Y/n calmly sat in the interrogation room, simply humming the minutes away, until finally in walked the chief of police ,lin beifong.

Y/n chuckled. " lin, was starting to worry you wouldn't show." He said as he sat up, which was a bit difficult as his wrists were restrained behind the chair he was sitting on.
"Don't lin me you nuisance." Lin spoke annoyed as she dropped a folder onto the table infront of her. " another petty robbery i see." Lin said as she crossed her arms.
Y/n shrugged. "Im broke, i gotta eat don't i?"
Lin scoffed. "Don't give me that shit, with your talent you could get any job you wanted, how many times have i tried to get you on the force."
Y/n did some mental math. " about 79 times, and each time I remind you, im no officer, besides why do you care so much? Don't you got bigger things to worry about than me stealing a few apples?"
Lin could agree, y/n was very low on her list of priorities, the worst thing he had ever stolen was an expensive sword, but it was a gray area as it belongs to a criminal she was trying to catch.
"I care because you can't keep wasting your life like this!" Lin yelled in frustration
"Hey! I happen to live life to the fullest thank you very much." Y/n said pouting.
"SLAM"
Lin had slammed her fist into the table, leaving a harsh dent in it. " is everything a damn joke to you?!"
Y/n widened his eyes a bit. " lin cmon it's not that serious."
"Then i see how little i mattered to you then!" Lin yelled, hurt beginning to show on her face now matter how hidden it was to everybody else.
Y/n lost his smile, you see he and lin were old partners and they were close, unfortunately circumstances drove them apart, lin had relationship with Tenzin which killed any chances in ever having a relationship with her, and losing his father to a mission gone wrong made him quit the force all together, isolating himself from everyone.
His father gave everything to the force and the best they could do give him the badge he left behind and not yo mention the criticism of his peers because his father tried to save his comrades over completing the mission.
This all dealt dealt a blow to lin, y/n tried to work a simple life but as living expenses piled up he resorted to thievery, which led to a a very long game of cat and mouse between him and lin.
"Lin...you know thats not true.." y/n said with a lack of emotion.
" oh yeah you've been doing a great job showing me that!" Lin said angrily.
