What You Don't See ( The Owl House x Older Brother Male Reader)

Y/n was currently tucking in his little sister in their shared room at the owl house , luz was getting tired so he carried back up, something that was just a habit every night now.

"You've been texting mom right?" Y/n asked as they made sure to keep in contact with their mother while they were in the boiling isles, thank god they had a way to keep their phones charger.

"Mhm" luz sounded with a nod looking her phone. " i try not to do too frequently so she doesn't think to video chat..i don't like lying to mom." Luz said looking up at her brother. "Are we bad for doing this?"

"No of course not." Y/n said shaking his head. " mom said never to lie but considering out circumstances the last thing we need is mama finding out you're not at summer camp and I'm not in college so thats for the best honestly."

"Ok." Luz nodded glad it wasn't too bad, she now looked like she had something else on her mind.

"Que pasa hermanita, talk to me." Y/n said wanting to know what was on her mind.

"When that monster attacked earlier today, you took a bad hit....." Luz said frowning, they were ambushed on their way home from hexide with eda, y/n  guarded Luz and was hit into a boulder, she remembered how he couldn't breathe for a moment. " are you sure your okay?" Luz asked  sitting up, concerned over her big brother.

Y/ns eyes widened, he didn't think that was still on her mind, he had told her he was fine then. "Im fine luz, im made of tough stuff." Y/n said with a smirk.

Luz was still sad. " but you got hurt because of me." She said sadly, looking down at her hands.

"Hey cmon .." y/n said tilting her head back up at him. "Im your big brother, of course im gonna take the hits you can't take, it's my job to protect you."  Y/n said firmly then smirked. "Im fine luz, im always gonna be fine." Y/n said with a smile.

Luz then put her pinky out. "Promise?"

Y/n smiled and wrapped his pinky around hers tightly. " promise" he the brought his sister in to a hug. " Te quiero hermanita."

"Yo tambien te quiero" luz said with a smile hugging her brother tightly.

Y/n suppressed a jolt that coursed through his body as she hugged him, they detached and he tucked her in. "Im gonna go get some water, dulce sueños" y/n said as he laid a kiss on her forehead, which made her smile as she began to fall asleep.

Y/n had walked out and gently closed the door, when he did, he let out a pained breath.  When luz embraced him its like his wound was reignited again, y/n tried to stand as upright as he could as he walked to the bathroom, as the wrong movement was just sending aches through his body.

When y/n got to the bathroom he began to unzip his hoodie, when he turned his body to the side he noticed his white shirt had spots of blood, when he lifted it was  greeted with the sight of  a almost purple bruise on the right side of his back, a few cuts to show where the blood came from, the boulder wasn't exactly smooth,

He took a small bottle of ointment  and a large patch  he got from a clinic in bonesborough, ready to treat the wound so it could heal properly.

"Oh My Titan..."

Y/n turned to the voice to find eda, looking at him in shock, dammit, thats what he gets for leaving the damn door open.

"Y/n-". Eda began

"Don't..." y/n interrupted,  he took a deep breath then looked at eda. " Just Don't tell luz...please." Y/n said firmly, luz couldn't see him like this...she just couldn't.

Eda thought that was foolish because he had told her and the kid he was fine, but she saw his eyes, he was pleading to her not to do it.

Eda sighed. "...fine, but next time you get injured you tell me, no discussion." Eda said firmly narrowing her eyes at the teen.

Y/n nodded, he could deal with that.

Eda looked him over again, concerned but left him to his own.

Y/n got back to what he was doing , he poured some ointment into his hand and while holding up his shirt he began rubbing, he fought down a hiss as the liquid burned but he had to put  with it, once it was thoroughly coated he placed the patch on the wound, he then lowered his shirt.

Another wound to his collection, he added other faded bruises and scars on his back,  a rough scar along his left forearm, and  a few on his legs, some for guarding luz and others for bad landings or getting unlucky with monsters.

He had no regrets, he would protect Luz no matter what, His body would just have to endure until they got back home.

Y/n put his hoodie back on, he took one last look in the mirror before heading back to the room.
