Several years later.
It had been a long time since highschool, Y/n and betty graduated from college and were finally able to start their careers, y/n was able to live off of his artistic passion and betty got her work started as a military scientist.
Unfortunately this put a heavy strain on their relationship, to the point where they mutually decided to take a break until they were finally able to see each other without work getting in the way, despite this their bond never wavered and maintained contact through text or video chat.
There was always that feeling for y/n, of wanting to just forget about his secret identity and swing up to whatever military base shes in and just taking her swinging across the city again, like they used to, but these painful things called responsibilities had to take priority and the relationship would just have to wait.
That is until one day.
(Knock!Knock!Knock!Knock!)
Y/n looked up from his important sketch for the daily bugle. "Its like 8 in the morning, the fuck?" Y/n muttered he hated being bothered at this time.
Y/n went over to the door and creaked it open: no disrespect to the lord but if your a jehova witness please move the fuck on and know this is why everyone hates you."
"Heh, seeing how early it is cant say i blame you." The man said with a smirk and took out his ID. " not that kind of meeting though."
Y/n eyed the ID and his eyes widened. "Hawkeye?" Y/n asked in shock.
"Yeah Last i checked." Clint said

"Don't worry this wont take long." Clint said as he walked in. "Your familiar with betty ross right? daughter of Secretary Ross?"
"Uh Yeah, why is he threatening to nuke me again?" Y/n said with a lighthearted smile, though it weakened when he noticed clints serious look.
"No..in fact he doesn't know about this..." clint said with a sigh. " Betty ross is missing." Clint revealed looking dead at y/n.
Y/ns blood ran cold, his lighthearted wiped off his face. "What do you mean?" Y/n asked, almost monotone.
"She was setting up in Virginia, culver university, we lost contact with her so we sent somebody in person, then the people at the university tells us and then at her complex that shes been gone for days, now going on two weeks." Clint explains, he then pulls out a folder.
