"What? Are you insane, Leila?" Joey asked, but Leila raised her brows at me.

Everyone stared at me. Some had their phones up high, recording while some muttered at one another.

My heart pounded harder.

It felt like the entire world was here to murder me. My legs feel weak right but eager to just run away.

Run out of this hell.

I shouldn't have come back here.

"Go on, tell everyone about your relationship with CJ's father." Leila said.

"This is ridiculous," Joey said.

"It's obvious that her queer friend here doesn't know either," Sandra said.

Barbara scoffed. "Or he is just pretending."

"What are you...."

"I asked you a question, Rose Roberts. The school about your relationship with CJ's father, Mr Caesar Imperial!"

I flinched.

Joey looked at me.

Our eyes locked. His eyes were asking if what they were saying was true.

I shook my head slightly.

"Speak, gold digger!" Leila snapped at me, making me flinch again.

Joey turned to Leila. "Hey, whoa, whoa, look, stop yelling at her like that. I am sure there must be a mistake somewhere."

I nodded.

"My friend is not....."

"Get this freak out of my sight," Leila chipped in, making Dahlia and some random girl move Joey away from me.

"Hey," Joey protested but they kept moving him away, leaving me alone with lions.

My heart weakened.

"Now, speak bitch." Leia said, coming closer.

I did the next thing I thought of, which was turn around and run away, but Jane and some girls blocked my way.

"Where is she going?" Jane asked, walking closer to me.

My heart sank into my belly.

"Huh? There is no place to run to, slut," Jane said, folding her hands.

Next, Leila grabbed my shoulder and turned around to face her.

"Start talking." She said.

I was trembling.

"Tell us about your sweet little relationship," She said.

"I..... I don't know what you are talking about." I stuttered.

Leila and the girl laughed. Jane and the girls behind laughed as well.

My heart begged to explode.

"What a nice lie, don't you think, Barbara?" Leila asked, smiling.

"A pathetic one at that." Barbara said, looking at me mockingly.

Leila chuckled and looked at me with a frown.

"You have one more chance to tell the truth," she warned.

"I have already told you. I don't know what you are talking about." I said and moved to walk past them but, Leila pushed me back aggressively.

"Uh," I let out a whimper.

"Tell the school how desperate you were to be like every one of us and couldn't get any boy in this school to date your sorry self, and you decided to go for a wealthy older man who is CJ's father!" Leila yelled.
