🌹ROSE🌹

"Rose!" I heard mum's voice, making me heave a sigh as I dropped the book I was reading. I am currently in my room, sitting at my window as usual and taking in the refreshing wind.

I was actually reading today's lesson when my mum called.

"Rose, dinner is ready!" She called out again.

"I am not hungry." I said calmly. She could barely hear me.

"Rose!"

"Coming!" I said out loud but tiredly.

"Come out right now!"

I rubbed my temples a little and got down from the window. I tossed my notebook on the table and walked out of the room.

I walked into the kitchen and I found my mum turning off the glass. I picked up my meal.

She made chicken sauce today. My taste buds jumped instantly.

Wow.

"It looks tasty, right?" She asked, smiling brightly.

I nodded. "Yes. It does."

"You are welcome." She said, picking up her own plate.

"Can I eat in my room, please?"

"No. We have to eat as a family in the living room." She said.

"But I am studying." I whined.

"Oh really? You can't study and eat at the same time, young lady. That's bad table manners." She said.

I heaved a sigh.

"Let's go," she ordered.

"Mum!" I whined, walking ahead and out of the kitchen. I headed towards the living room.

I took a seat on the sofa and mum sat on the other sofa. We began eating.

I suppressed the urge to moan at the glorious taste of the food because I am upset with her not letting me eat in my room.

But she is a very good cook. This food is very tasty.

I need to resume learning from her.

"So, how was school today?" She asked.

"Talking while eating is also a bad table manners, mum." I said without looking at her.

She scoffed. "Okay, smart girl."

"School is fine. Ish."

"Is that brat still pestering you?"

"No." I said, recalling how upset I made him and the way he drove away and didn't come back all through.

"See? It is a good thing I intervened." She said.

I nodded. Yeah right. He is actually preparing the worse for me. I just have to be ready for it.

"I am glad they changed the principal though. He is better than the last one." She said.

I nodded.

"He is indeed. He is changing a lot of things in the school. He brought security guards to stop bullying in the school." I said.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Wow. Now that's a good educator there." She said.

I nodded, eating my meal.

"You know what?" She asked, placing her finger on her chin and thinking about something.

"What?"

"Why don't we change your name back to Adams?"
