🌹ROSE🌹

"Good day, sir," I greeted him shyly, dropping my gaze.

"Beautiful day, indeed." He said, increasing the butterflies in my belly.

"I didn't expect to see you here today." He said.

I fiddled with my fingers. "My mum, she said she called the company and told them that I quit." I said, looking at him.

He furrowed his brows. "Quit? Why?" He asked.

"She was upset with me about yesterday, so," i said dropping my gaze.

"Oh,' he said.

"But she didn't call the company. She only said that to scare me and make me go to school." I said, making him chuckle.

"Mothers. That's how they are. My mum did worse to me when I was your age." He said.

I smiled a little.

"God, your smile always makes my day." He said.

My heart fluttered.

"Now that you are here, can I take you out for lunch?" He asked.

I froze.

"I mean, it is past lunch time but can I take you out?" He asked.

I looked at him.

He is smiling at me.

I am instantly reminded of that woman with him. My heart reacted, making me drop my gaze.

"So, what do you say?" He asked.

"I don't want issues with your girlfriend." I said, surprised at what I just said.

"What?" He scoffed, clearing his throat.

I looked at him.

"No, Maltida is....Maltida is not my girlfriend." He said, looking at me.

My heart raced.

"She is an old friend." He said.

I nodded slightly. "I am sorry but I can't go out with you."

His face twitched. Like he felt hurt by that.

I felt bad.

"Why not?" He asked.

"My mum will be worried about me. She knows today is not my work day." I said.

"Oh. I understand." He said.

I nodded slightly.

"But you have to promise to go out with me on Friday." He said.

I looked at him.

He raised his brows at me.

I opened my mouth to speak but he held my hand, catching me off guard.

Shivers ran down my spine.

"Promise, blue eyes?" He asked, staring at me.

My heart raced more than ever.

I nodded. "I promise," i said.

He smiled at me. "Good. I'll see you later then." He said, winking at me before walking into the company.

I stood there dumbfounded.

My cheeks feels like a tomato right now.

Oh Jingles!

*******

I got out of the bus and headed towards our building. I couldn't stop smiling all through the ride. I am still smiling right now.

I walked up the stairs before getting to our door. I took out the keys from where my mum left it. She told me to pick it up from the spot whenever i come back from school.

I opened the door and entered the house.

I closed the door behind me, still feeling my heart fluttering. I heaved a sigh as I walked towards my room.

I took off my bag and fell on my bed like a plane crashing on land.

I giggled as I thought about my boss.

The way he held my hand and the way he smiled at me was something else.

I can't stop thinking about it. I didn't stop smiling in the bus.

I don't think I will ever stop smiling.

What I feel now is more than butterflies.

I can't explain what it is but my heart is fluttering.

I love the way he looks at me.

The way he calls me blue eyes.

I squealed happily.

A knock came on the door.

Oh geez.

Mum is back.

I quickly got on my feet and walked out of my room. I walked towards the door and opened it, revealing my mum.

"Good evening, mummy." I greeted her, grinning happily.

She furrowed her brows at me confusedly as I moved aside so she could come in.

"Welcome home." I said, still grinning.

"Okay," she said, still furrowing her brows as she walked into the house. I closed the door right after.

"I'll help you with that," i said, taking her bag from her.

She scoffed in disbelief.

I turned to walk towards her room but,

"Okay, what is going on?" She asked.

I turned to her. "what do you mean?" I asked, smiling.

"Why are you smiling like that?" She asked.

I shrugged. "Nothing. I am just happy."

She scoffed, placing her hands on her hips. "Did you stay in school today?"

"Yes."

She dimmed her eyes at me.

I heaved a sigh. "I did, mum. I am not lying."

"I have not seen you this happy in a long time. Tell me, young lady, what happened?"

"Nothing happened, mum. Can't your daughter be happy for no reason?" I asked.

She scoffed. "No. Not in a suspicious way. You are sure you stayed in school today?" She asked.

"I did."

"What did that brat do to you then?" She asked, folding her hands.

I furrowed my brows. "What brat?"

"The brat that I smacked." She said.

I almost rolled my eyes. I am instantly reminded of CJ.

God, he is a mood killerr.

"Nothing. He didn't try anything." I said.

"Seriously?" She asked.

Actually, he was weirdly nice to me. I still don't understand why. It feels strange.

"Are you sure he didn't do anything to you? Because I swear to God who made me, I will not only smack his...."

"He didn't do anything to me, mum. I am telling you the truth." I cut in.

She heaved a sigh. "Okay then. I will believe you a little bit." She said, walking towards me and take her bag from me.

"Hey, don't you want me to help you?" I asked.

"Since when?" She asked.

I heaved a sigh.

"Go and shower. You smell like school." She said, walking past me.

I smiled a bit as I walked back to my room.
