Again, I am getting lost in his eyes. Plus the excitement in my heart is too much to contain.
Did he just say he wants to talk?! And in his office?!
He raised his brows at me. "Rose?"
"Huh?"
"Did you hear me?" He asked.
"Yes!" I blurted.
His face twitched.
I cleared my throat. "I mean, yes. Yes, sir. We can talk." I said, comporting myself.
He smiled.
I almost fainted but I held my balance.
"Come on," he said, walking away.
I quickly moved my cleaning equipment to the wall and followed the boss.
My heart kept jumping as I walked behind him. He is very tall.
I feel like a kid.
I wonder what he wants to talk about. Maybe apologize for ditching me.
I squealed internally, but comported myself instantly as I rubbed my wet palms on my uniform.
He walked into his office and waited for me to enter before closing the door.
"Welcome to my office," he said, walking further in and I feed my eyes on the beautiful and expensive things in his spacious office.
His office is very beautiful.
He has portraits that has pretty paintings, tiny statues, black sofas and huge windows behind his desk. You could see the whole of New York from here. His desk is huge and he has files on them. My eyes moved to a huge portrait of him hung on the wall. He is dressed in a blue suit, looking very handsome. I smiled as I stared at it.
He also has trophies as well. They are placed in a show glass. I walked towards the glass to read what is written on the trophies but....
"Are you always this curious?" He asked, bringing me back to reality. I looked at him.
He is smiling at me.
I dropped my gaze shyly.
"Those are my small winnings." He said, making me look at the trophies and then back at him.
He is taking a seat on his big swivel chair.
"Please seat," he said, motioning at the seat opposite his huge desk. I walked closer to his desk and sat on the chair.
There is a pink box tied with a white ribbon in front of me.
I stared at it.
"It is yours." He said, making me look at him.
He smiled at me.
Wha.....what?
"I got it for you." He said.
I felt a rush in my belly. That same feeling I can't wait to ask Joey what it means.
"Go on, open it." He said.
I looked at him.
"Open it."
I nodded slightly as I nevously untied the ribbon and opened the box.
My eyes widened at the sight of bunch of chocolates in the box. I didn't know when I let out a scoff of excitement.
He chuckled.
I looked at him with my smiling face.
"I guess I was right. Every woman loves chocolates. Both young and old." He said, leaning on the desk.
