"Mum, wha...."
"Give me the damn iPad, young lady." She ordered.
My heart begged to explode.
I don't even have my iPad in my bag. I left it in the closet. She will find out about my phone.
What am I going to do now?
"Rose,"
"Mum, you..."
"Don't make me repeat myself." She retorted.
My heart pounded faster.
"Mum..." I trailed off the minute she walked towards me.
"Fine! I am hiding something from you." I said, stopping her on her track.
She stared at me.
I stared at her, feeling my heart banging.
"What are you hiding?" She asked.
I thought about what to say.
She raised her brows at me.
"I am.....I am hiding my unhappiness."
She furrowed her brows.
"Unhappiness?" She asked.
I didn't respond.
"What are you unhappy about?" She asked, folding her hands.
Timmy's words came to my head.
"I am listening!" Mum snapped.
I jumped a bit.
"I am unhappy about the fact that you couldn't get my father to accept me."
Her face twitched. "What?"
"Yes, mum. You heard me."
She furrowed her brows at me. "Where....where is that coming from?"
"You and dad's relationship is still a mystery to me. I don't know what you did to him for him to reject us. To reject me, his blood!"
She stared at me.
"If he had accepted me, I wouldn't be treated the way I was treated in school. I will not have issues getting the boyfriend that I want because of my low status. I will not be answering your last name!" I cried.
She kept staring at me.
"Can you believe that? My own father doesn't even want me to bear his last name," I said, with a low tone.
She dropped her gaze on her fingers.
"So, you are saying it is my fault?" She asked, looking at me.
"Yes. It is," I said boldly.
She nodded, dropping her gaze again.
My heart clenched at what I just said.
She gave me a slight smile. "I will let you be. For now." She said, walking towards the door.
I heaved a sigh as I saw her head out of the room and closed my door.
I covered my face with my palms, letting it all out.
God, I didn't mean that. I didn't mean what I said to her.
What is wrong with you, Rose?!
What is Mr Caesar doing to you?
He doesn't like you. You are not in his class. You are out of his league.
He is even older than you.
Why would you talk to your mother like that?
My heart tightened as more tears flowed down my eyes. My phone rang again.
