Chapter 24

My heart couldn't stop aching as I watched her cup his cheeks while still kissing him.

I farrowed my brows.

He moved her off his lips gently.

"Maltida, geez. I have a someone here." He said to her.

"Oh, sorry. I got carried away by your handsome face I have missed so much." She said, giggling.

He heaved a sigh and looked at me.

I dropped my gaze, feeling tears approaching.

"Tell her to go, I need to talk to you." She said and I sensed her sit on the desk close to him.

"Maltida," he called.

"Leave, now." She ordered, making me look at her.

She is looking at me. 

I looked at the boss.

He heaved a sigh. "Um.....Rose, I will talk you later, okay? Please go back to work." He said.

I nodded slightly, feeling my aching heart as I stand on my feet with the box in my hands and headed for the door.

"You will never stop being too nice to your employees, Caesar." I heard her say as I got closer to the door.

"They are below your class. When will you learn? They are going to take you for granted you know." She said.

"How i treat my employees is none of your business, Maltida." The boss said calmly.

"Well, it is my business and you know that." She said as I closed the door.

Sighing, I walked towards the spot I was cleaning. 

The image of them kissing filled my head. My heart tightened as it kept on playing in my head.

A tear rolled down my eyes.

I wiped it off instantly.

What was I thinking? Why am I even crying? He is the CEO and way old enough to have someone in his life.

Could she be his wife?

Or girlfriend?

He must be married with kids right?

I shouldn't be feeling this way.

God, why does it hurt this much?

"Wow! Chocolate!" Annie said as she picked a bar of chocolate from the box and unwrapped it. She began eating.

I heaved a sigh as I arranged my bag, preparing to go home. We are done for the day and currently in the changing room, getting ready to leave.

I am still thinking about the boss and that woman he called Matilda.

I can't help but wonder who she is to him.

"Wow, this is delicious." Annie said while eating the chocolate.

"Where did you get them?" She asked.

"The boss gave it to me." I said nonchalantly.

"What?!"

I flinched. "Geez, Annie."

She sat closer to me and looked at the others who are busy changing into their normal attire and chatting with one another.

She looked at me. "Did you just say the boss?" She asked.

I nodded.

"Shut the front door. Why did he give them to you?" She asked.

"They are apology gifts." I said, working on my shoes.
