🌹ROSE🌹
"I asked you a question, Rose." My mum said angrily.
Oh, my God, Dynasty.
This is unbelievable. Ignoring my mum's question, I quickly walked towards my mum and collected the telephone from her.
She scoffed.
I placed the telephone on my ear regardless.
"Hello," I said, awaiting a voice from the other end of the line.
"Yes, Hello," A female voice said.
My heart picked up.
"Is this Rose Adams?" The woman asked.
"Yes, yes, this is her." I answered instantly.
"Okay, good. I am calling from Dynasty Empire." She said, making me very excited deep down as i bite my finger. A habit of mine whenever I am expecting something exciting.
"You applied for a part-time cleaning job hours ago. We would like to see you tomorrow being Friday." She said.
I squealed inaudibly, ignoring the look on my mother's face.
"Will you be able to make it?" She asked.
"Yes!" I blurted but cleared my throat instantly and comported myself. "Yes, I will be there." I said calmly.
My heart is still jumping.
"Alright, awesome. Please come to the company by noon tomorrow with your letter which already on the website waiting for you download. Our address is also on the website. We will be expecting you. Have a nice day." She said and hung up.
"Yes!" I squealed and jumped excitedly, twirling till I locked eyes with my angry looking mother who has her both hands on her waist.
I stopped dancing.
Oh jingles.
I forgot she is still standing here. She is actually scowling at me. I dropped my gaze, fiddling with my fingers.
I sensed her folding her hands close to her chest.
"Young lady, can you tell me the mean of that call you just answered?" She asked.
I heaved a sigh. I think I should tell her. I just took the job call right in front of her. I should tell her.
I looked at her.
She moved her hands, urging me to speak.
"That's the part-time job I applied for earlier today." I barely spoke audibly.
She arched her brows. "What?"
"A part-time job." I said.
"What part-time job?" She asked.
"A part-time cleaning job at a big company, mum." I said, trying to sound convincing.
"Don't do that, Rose." She said, making me heave a sigh.
"Don't give me that big company trick. You can't study and work at the same time." She said, sounding angry.
"Mum, it is part-time. I won't be doing it everyday. I will have time to study, I promise." I explained.
"No." She retorted.
I stared at her worriedly.
She heaved a sigh. "What is wrong with you?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"Do you want to loose your scholarship?" She asked.
I shook my head. "No, mum. I am not going to loose my scholarship."
