"What was he telling her about me?"

"Actually he was warning her about you."

I furrowed my brows. "How so?"

He leaned closer, "He said, and I quote, "Let this be last time you try this shit. Don't hurt Rose ever again or else you will be sorry."

My heart raced as Joey leaned backwards.

No. That's not true.

"You are surprised, right?" He asked.

I didn't respond as what he just said replayed in my head.

"I was surprised too. Then I saw that picture of you and his dad on the screen. There I realized that Jane and Leila had done to you."

I let out a breathless scoff, looking in CJ's direction. He is pressing his phone.

It can't be.

He is a demon.

"God, I hate Simon so much. I could stab him with my pen right now, you know." Joey said, making me look at him.

"Joey, what if you heard it wrong?"

He scoffed. "I heard it loud and clear. Though he wasn't raising his voice, seeing him holding her like that made me curious, so I decided to eavesdrop."

I shook my head. "It is hard to believe."

"Yeah. It is. I still can't believe it myself, but I heard him loud and clear. That's literally the first time hearing him say your name."

I looked at CJ momentarily. He is still pressing his phone.

No. It can't be.

"I don't know why he did that, but that could mean one thing. He wasn't involved in those two witches' plans," Joey said, making me look at him.

He nodded.

My heart kept racing as I looked at CJ again.

"Good morning, class," our teacher's familiar voice got my attention.

"Good morning, sir." Everyone greeted him and I saw Leila approaching. Her eyes are on me, scowling like I am the worst thing on earth.

I dropped my gaze as I sensed her taking her seat which was in front of me.

God, I could just grab her hair right now.

Witch number one.

Where is witch number two, though?

I looked towards her seat, but I didn't see her. I looked around in search for her, but I locked eyes with CJ instantly, making my heart race.

I looked away, facing my note.

"So, class," our teacher began. "Before I go into what we have for the day, I would like to announce to you all that the school camping trip will be in two days and...."

"Whoo!!!" Everyone squealed happily. Some shook their hands in different styles while some wave their hands happily.

This camping trip must be fun. Everyone is very excited.

We never went on any camping trips back in my old school.

I am definitely going.

"Quiet down, class." The teacher said, making everyone keep calm.

"You all know the drill. Pack light. Don't forget important stuff because you will be scouting and possibly climbing the mountain this time."

"We are ready to go to the moon, sir." Zach said, making everyone chuckle.
