"Rose!" mum called again, knocking on the door.
My heart pounded as I quickly turned off the phone and put it inside my bag. I took out my iPad and got out of bed.
"Open this door right now, Rose!" Mum yelled.
"Coming," I said, rushing towards the door and unlocking it.
I met my angry-looking mum.
My heart increased its pace.
"Mum,"
"What in God's name is wrong with you? Why are you being disobedient?" She asked.
I furrowed my brows slightly.
"Wha....what?"
She stared at me.
I moved my eyes nervously, fiddling with my fingers.
"Why did you lock your door? How many times have I warned you not to lock yourself in?"
"I was studying, mum. I wasn't....."
She walked in, cutting me off.
Oh God.
Please, please don't make her suspect anything.
I watched as she looked around my room, adding to my racing heart.
"What is that?" She asked, pointing at my iPad on the bed.
"The....the iPad."
She looked at me.
I gulped. "I told you. The school gave it to me."
She folded her hands as she stared at me.
I dropped my gaze as I fiddled with my fingers.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
I froze.
I looked at her. She raised her brows.
Wh.....why is she asking me that?
Does she know about Mr Caesar and I?
"I asked you a question, young lady?"
I moved nervously.
"Mum....why are you asking me that?"
"You are exhibiting the character of a teenager with a boyfriend."
"Mum!"
"Do you have a boyfriend? Yes or no?"
"I don't. Stop asking me weird questions." I said, looking away as I rubbed my arms nervously.
"If i hadn't known better, I would say you have a phone somewhere and be chatting with your boyfriend." He said.
My heart dropped.
"I don't have a phone!" I blurted.
She raised her brows.
"Mum, please. Stop accusing me wrongly! I don't like it." I said, walking towards my bed and picking up my iPad.
I felt tears coming, but my heart was still beating fast, and my hands were sweaty.
I hope she leaves my room and leaves me alone.
"I will pretend that you didn't just raise your voice at me," She said.
I focused my gaze on my iPad.
"What has gotten over you?" She asked.
I didn't respond.
"Why did you lock yourself in?" She asked.
