Jayden waved at a group of students as he passed them in the hallways walking toward his locker. It was strange, almost felt like a dream, being back here after all this time. No one seemed to have forgotten about it, but things had changed. "No need to rush," Jack said. He appeared right beside his brother and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "We've got all the time in the world." It was almost like nothing happened. As if the past months had all just been some strange bad dream. Everyone in town was happy when Bill's death was announced on the news. Bill Salvini was dead. The judges found him guilty after Jade's statements about their father. Bill set them up for this; the kids didn't know what they were doing or what consequences would come along with it; that's what the judge said. The triplets were cleared of all charges. Not everyone was too thrilled about that; there were some who thought that the boys should have been punished for the kidnapping of Megan. But since they'd already spent a while in prison, the judge ruled that sending them back was unnecessary. "Seems like he's having the time of his life," Jack said as they reached his brother's locker. Jayden turned to see their youngest brother standing with his girlfriend near the science classroom. He was holding her against him, resting his chin on top of her head, while she talked to her friend. "Of course he is, he's back in his old territory. He's the one that actually wanted to come back." Jerry wanted to return to their old life as quickly as possible. He was so excited that he convinced his brothers to come back with him. Jack especially was a shock. "Let him be happy," Jayden added. Jack leaned against the other lockers whilst Jayden opened his to pull out his books for the last class of today along with two pencils. He never thought he'd be this happy to be back in school. "Henry said he was picking up Jade because he has a free period, so we don't have to rush."
"I never thought I would hear that, do you know that? Henry picking up Jade." Jayden chuckled and stuffed his books in his backpack. "I know. And the worst part about that is that I'm glad it's him and not his brother or Casper." Jack said.
"Did you know she was spending the night at his place again?" Jack shook his head and sighed. "If I had, she wouldn't have gone. I don't want to know what they're doing there. And it's not just one. It's both of them." As older brothers, they are protective of their little sister, naturally. Along with that, Casper was older than they were, which set off some alarms. Sure, he treated Jade like a queen, but her brothers did not like it whatsoever. Andrew wasn't any better. "I don't want anyone to lay their hands on her. I don't care who it is. Even if he's fucking rich or whatever." Jayden replied. His brother agreed with that. "Can't tell her what to do, though." That might have been the worst part of it, they couldn't tell Jade what to do and keep her inside the house. The only one that might have been able to say something about it was Louis and he did, but Jade did not listen to him if she didn't want to. "She's more like you than she'd like to admit. You used to keep girls on the edge as well. Two at the same time." Jack pointed out to his brother. He's not wrong. Not Jayden's proudest moments. "Yes, but they were my girlfriends. Jade said she's not dating either of them and that she's not sure who or what she wants yet. Sometimes I feel like she's taking advantage of their feelings. Andrew's like a puppy around her. Casper... god, he's even worse than that."
"Some brothers would be happy when their sister told them that she's not dating anyone." Jack chuckled. His brother gave him a look with raised eyebrows. "Not dating anyone, sure. Do you believe it yourself? It sounds to me like friends with benefits or the whole 'we are just friends' kind of situation, which is like a guy's dream, okay? You and I know that even dipshit over there knows it." Jayden pointed at their youngest brother standing a little further away with his girlfriend. "Befriending the girl makes her almost a forbidden fruit. Girl feels safe with you, comes to you when she needs you, she chose you. She doesn't even realize that you're completely in love with her already. When it finally happens it feels like such a treat. Both of those guys know that. Jade probably knows it too and uses it to her advantage." Their sister was smart enough, so, that would not be a surprise. "She's not spending another night there this week. With neither of them. We're going to have family dinners again like we used to. That's better for all of us. I feel like I'm going grey because of her." Jayden sighed and shut the door of his locker. Jack shrugged and walked along with his brother. "Some girls dig it." He said. "I don't. Not yet. I'm not even eighteen yet." Together they made their way over to their youngest brother and his girlfriend.
