If anyone else had asked her the question, Lucy would have answered, "Home." But after they were cleared to leave observation, when Tim offered to drive her home, Lucy shook her head before replying, "Your place."

He let her take the first shower, using the time to tidy up his living room. If anyone had asked, Lucy probably would have said she didn't really know why she had joined Tim in his bed after her shower.

Tim fell asleep rather quickly, emotionally and physically exhausted by the day's events. Lucy, on the other hand, had been staring at the ceiling for over two hours. Her mind was spinning in loops, stopping only for a few seconds before starting all over again.

She could have died today.

He could have died today.

She could have lost him—forever.

Driven by the fear of living their last moments, he had dared to open up and confess that he still loved her. She would be lying if she said her heart hadn't skipped a beat. To be honest, a tiny part of her had thought Tim left because he didn't love her anymore.

And that confession had started to crack the walls she had built around herself. The more she replayed their conversation in her head, the more the tears welled up, until she realized. Until she remembered her response. "It doesn't matter."

She could have died today.

He could have died today.

She could have lost him—forever.

Today, he could have died without knowing that she still loved him too, just as much as on the first day. She could have died and left him with that unanswered question for the rest of his life. And the more she imagined all the scenarios, the more the tears fell. And the more the tears fell, the more it hurt.

She quickly turned her head toward Tim, asleep. The very idea of losing him felt insurmountable, as if she might as well rip her heart from her chest right then and there. Of course she loved him. She loved him more than she should, she loved him to the point of making herself sick, to the point of risking her own life to save his. She loved him like she had never loved anyone else in her life. She had long believed she knew what it meant to be in love with someone—until Tim walked into her life, until her heart was ready to explode at every word, every touch, every kiss. Deep down, she knew he was the one—the love of her life, the kind you only find once.

But he had broken her heart. Once. She had decided to wall off her own heart to protect herself, to avoid suffering again. But those walls, which had done their job until now, had almost ruined everything.

She could have died today.

He could have died today.

She could have lost him—forever.

And how she regretted not saying "I love you" one last, perhaps final, time. And unconsciously, as if taking over for her, her brain had perhaps set things in motion. If she were honest, Lucy hadn't really thought about becoming a sergeant; the idea had come to her in the ambulance. She would also be lying if she said she hadn't considered that Tim would no longer be her superior, and she would be lying again if she said she hadn't hoped Tim would offer to help her study.

She loved this man. She wanted to give him a second chance. She needed to give him a second chance. But she was afraid. Afraid of suffering again. She probably wouldn't survive it a second time. But everything inside her was screaming to love him again, like before. She wanted him to kiss her, to hold her hand, to tell her he loved her. She wanted to fall asleep in his arms but wake up in his. She wanted to hear him sing in the shower in the morning, to see him cook on Sunday nights, to fall asleep against him in front of the TV. She wanted to marry him, to have children who looked like him, grandchildren. She wanted to be loved by Tim, and only by Tim.

And then she realized once again...

She could have died today.

He could have died today.

She could have lost him—forever.

She briefly closed her eyes, as if to gather courage, and lay down against him, her hand on his heart. Instinctively, Tim shifted his arm around her and placed his hand on her waist, pulling her even closer. She waited a moment before moving her hand against him, hesitantly.

"Tim? Tim? Hey?"

"Hm?"

"I love you, you know..."

Tim tightened his embrace and kissed the top of her head.

The road ahead was undoubtedly long, and they would have to talk—about everything, about them.

But Lucy had decided to lower her guard, to tell him, to find him again after almost losing him forever.

27.02.25. Hello Hi :)

Just wanted to write a little something after 708 episode last Tuesday.
OMG, that episode was a masterpiece.

Let me share something with you...

" About Lucy in tonight's 708 episode (my opinion) : Well, Lucy didn't clearly say "I love you" to Tim verbally. BUT. Can we talk about Lucy in S6 and everything she went through in just one season? Her heart is shattered, and so is her self-confidence. So yes, she's focusing on the one thing she can normally control—her job.

And the fact that she chooses an exam that will allow her to have the same rank as Tim is a huge open door. Saying "I love you" isn't just about words. It's also about everything else—the actions, the tone of voice, the looks, the decisions. And with what we saw tonight, I'm sorry, but she told him she still loves him, just in a different way.

Can we let her heal? And just because they are doing better doesn't mean she is. She needs reassurance just as much as Tim does. But we're getting there, right? She's going to tell him she loves him at a moment neither of them will expect. "

I know a lot of you regret she didn't say it back to Tim, but it'll come.
Take care of you, hope you'll like this little something.

Please vote and comment it helps a lot
