Nightfall...

Luna lay in bed, the weight of tomorrow's mission heavy on her mind.

Just what will the angel world be like? Will they make it to Queen Sapphire? Will they convince her to let Yukine stay? How should they bring up the vampire chemical? Could they use it as leverage? So many questions. So much uncertainty. But she shouldn't worry about that now. All she had to do... was sleep.

Her eyes fell heavy as her mind quietened.

The night dragged on. The moon shifting into place...

But suddenly, a loud crash shook Luna awake!!

"Uh!!" Luna's eyes snapped open, breath catching in her throat.

"Uh... what was that?" she whispered, heart racing in the dark moon. Moonlight shone through the window, casting a shadow over half her face.

She typically struggled to wake up in the morning. But with this sudden shock, her body was forced into alertness.

She looked to the shadowed door. Nothing. There was silence.

She hesitated. Should she get up? Go back to sleep? Was that crash just a nightmare?

But then...

Another loud crash followed as someone's voice called out, "AHHH—GET AWAY FROM ME!!"

Luna's eyes widened, recognising the voice instantly.

"Uh! Echo!!" Luna panicked, voice sharp.

Luna launched herself from bed, nearly falling as her legs tangled in the blanket. She slammed open her door—darkness.

The hall stretched out like a tunnel. Cold air. Silence. Was it always this dark?

Then—another scream. Louder!

"Uh!!" she ran, chasing after the sound in disarray.

She turned the corner—just in time to see her sister slam into the wall, a spray of blood fanning from her mouth!!!!

Luna froze as if hands had come up from hell and grabbed her in place!

Echo's sword skidded across the floor, gold embers trailing behind it.

"Uh!!!" Luna gasped, eyes wide, heart beating so fast she feared she wouldn't be able to move.

Her eyes darted to the attacker.

Floating just above the floor stood a tall, radiant figure—an angel, dressed in blinding white armour. Her face was hidden behind a porcelain mask. Wings arched behind her like jagged blades of light.
