"Hey Noah! Mar!" Folio shouts from the hallway letting himself in, Jolly and Nick trailing behind hands filled with bags.

"We brought supplies. We've got banners, chips and dip, Y'know the usual nibbles oh and stuff for the BBQ." Nick adds his voice slightly strained under the weight as they carry everything through to where we're standing in the kitchen.

"You didn't need to go all out guys, we have plenty here already." Noah replies taking a heavy looking bag from Jolly placing it down on kitchen island.

"Yeah we did Mar." Folio winks as he starts to unpack the bags pulling out bags of chips. "Imagine you didn't have back up like us. This house warming would be so fucking girly." I roll my eyes at his comment grabbing a banner.

"Well I appreciate your help regardless." I sarcastically reply, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

"See that's the gratitude I like to hear. Next you'll be telling me I'm your favourite guest." He grins opening the bag of chips swiftly popping one in his mouth with a satisfying crunch.

"You're not even top five." I shoot back with a smirk.

"Top three?" He chances his hand placed on his chest pretending to be wounded.

"More like top ten." Noah teases as he arranges cups and drinks along our kitchen counter, not even bothering to look up making Nick and Jolly laugh.

"Looks like you're tied with their delivery driver from last week Folio." Nick chuckles stacking our fridge with beer.

"Brutal. To think I went to the grocery store for you. Y'all know I fucking hate it there." Folio grumbles biting into another chip.

"Folio dude, you've been here for five minutes and you're already making it about you." Jolly replies a slight warning to his tone.

"Correct, I'm setting the tone. They're gonna announce that I'm gonna be an uncle." Folios grin widens and I shake my head biting down on my own smile.

"Poor kid having you as one of their role models." Nick jokes shaking Folios shoulders in the boyish way they always do.

"Hey, I'll be a great role model." Folios quips pouring the remaining chips into a plastic bowl. "I'm gonna be the fun one. I know that much."

"Margo put him to work if not he'll start working on the beer next." Jolly says nodding towards the fridge.

"Bro, I am working." Folio argues gesturing to the bowl of chips he just poured. "Presentation is everything."

"Sure. You can present this over the door then." I hand Folio a banner catching a small smirk from Noah as I do.

"Cool, that's cool. I'm not putting it over the door though, I'm gonna put it right where everyone will see me first when they walk it. We've gotta set expectations."

"Low ones?" Noah asks deadpan making Nick snort in reply. I just shake my head and walk away heading into the backyard to catch my breath leaving the chaos inside to unravel without me.

The sky's still bright, the sun still hot making the backyard shimmer in the lazy L.A summer heat. I love envisioning our little one playing out here when they're old enough. Barefoot on the grass, maybe we'll get a paddling pool or a sandpit for them to play in.

The back door slides open and I soon feel warm hands slip around my waist. Instinctively I lean into him rolling my head back looking up into his deep brown eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" He smiles down at me soft and warm.

"Just thinking about all the memories we'll make here. Do you think we'll get a paddling pool or a sandpit?" I ask Noah making him chuckle.
