JULIETTE'S POV:

The world around me is changing. Grass is growing. Clouds are no longer grey. The people are smiling. No fighting. No riots.

It's as if it's too good to be true.

Of course it is, we haven't seen peace like this in decades - part of me wants to give in to this fantasy that people no longer want to do bad things, that people desire to cause others harm, but I know that's not true.

"Juliette, love..?" Aaron's voice leads me down the rabbit hole that I had been trapped in for the last god knows how long. "Are you alright?" He asks, moving and twisting his body, turning me around to face him as his eyes meet mine. "What's wrong?" He asks, the second he sees my face it's like he knows that something is eating away at me - tearing me up inside.

I shake my head, dismissing his concerns like I have completely forgotten he can read my emotions. "Nothing is wrong, Aaron."

His face morphs into a strange concoction of his father and Adam's - he is no longer my Aaron - not Aaron at all. "You don't deserve peace." He says, smirking with such a look I think it'd be impossible to forget. "You should still be locked up in that hell hole, under lock and key for no one to have to deal with."

"A-Aaron..." my voice comes out as an utterly pathetic tremble. "Please!" I beg, not actually sure what I am pleading for.

"Aw," he laughs, not the laugh that I love so much, no, this one is evil, menacing, "you think saying a few words are going to help you? You are even more stupid than I give you credit for."

"Stop it!" I shout, sitting up right, noticing that we are not in Aaron's bedroom on base anymore, no, now we are in my cell in the asylum. The double bed we were in is now simply a tattered mattress on the cold, dark, damp floor. The air hits me with such brutality it almost causes me to fall back down onto the mattress. "What happened, why aren't you Aaron anymore?" I ask the strange morphing image of both Adam and Anderson. "How are we back here?"

The mix of two people, father and son - Adam and Anderson, they look at me with pure rage. Anger is so clear that it almost reaches out and chokes me. "You silly, silly girl." Anderson says. Adam is almost eliminated from the continuously changing face. "You are just as useless as you were when this cell was your only reality. This is where you belong. Within these four walls. Trapped in a cage that holds and enslaves you. Where I trap and enslave you."

I inhale sharply, my own stomach practically churning with actual nausea due to the fact that this vile individual is actually in front of me. "How are you here?" I ask the obvious question. "You are supposed to be dead."

His laughter only increases, now it is becoming inhumanly louder. "I don't think you understand the world, little girl. You have no comprehension when it comes to the real world. You should have never been born. Never been given life."

"Juliette love."

"Juliette."

"Juliette, sweetheart."

Sound explodes in my ears in ways I thought impossible. A sharp and piercing scratch rips through my ears, leaving me almost deaf. High pitched sounds continue to pummel me with pain that leaves me breathless. Motionless. Immobilized.
