JULIETTE'S POV:

The midday breeze falls on my skin as I see the sun hang, so freely, in the sky. It's times like this when I remember that there are only limited times when we are able to see this world. Only so many times we get to breathe the fresh air. Only so many time that we get to see the flowers that bloom. Only so many times that we get to shed tears.
It's times like this when the only thing that I think of, is if I have already had my last time, seeing Aaron.

Right now he's gone, and I don't know if I'll ever see him again, because, let's be honest, if whoever took him wasn't some sort of genius, then Aaron would have gotten out of his clutches by now.

"Hey J."

I turn around and see Kenji looking at me with pity in his eyes. "Please Kenji, not right now."

He comes and plops himself down next to me on the wooden log I have found as a seat, that is only a few feet from base.

"It's a shit hole, isn't it." Kenji mumbles. "This place, it's not like it used to be."

I nod in agreement. "I know."

I hear him sigh. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said, kid. It didn't come out how I imagined. I really didn't mean it the way you took it." His eyes fall to me, a hint of desperation.

I shift on the log, letting my eyes wander from his, seeing the pity in them only worsens the feeling of woe that already drowned me. "Please don't look at me like that, Kenji."

"Like what?"

"With pity." A tear cascades it's way down my cheek. "I don't want to be pitied. I want to find him and move on."

His hand falls onto my shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "We will find him, J."

I turn to see his eyes now looking at me with encouragement and determination.

I nod. Of course we will! Why did I ever doubt it?!

AARON'S POV:

Finally gathering enough information to stop Annie and Theo, it's time to plan my escape.

You see, I wanted to let them explain to me what their motives are, why they're going to such lengths. Because now, when I get back up to the ground floor of the base, I can make sure that both of them come nowhere near Juliette. My fiancée.

I untangle my hands from the restraints that they have been in - which, to be fair, are very poorly done. These two wouldn't even be able to kidnap Kishimoto, and that's saying something.

Unloosing the rope that has my hands tied behind my back. Once my wrists are free, I untie my ankles, making sure not to make a sound, to not alert Annie or Theo.

Once I am totally free, I reach for a spare plank of wood that seems very sturdy, so I'll take my chances on it.

I know that the second I take a step, or stand up, they'll both turn around and cause me some cholesterol damage. So, I have to be prepared for the impact.

I hold the wooden slab up shielding my upper body as I lift myself off of the creaking chair, causing both of them to shoot round and look at me.

"What?" Annie gasps. "How did you get up?"

I laugh, I see the complete anger and fear that washes over them both - crossing their facial features.

"Are you both serious? You have no idea how easy it is to unravel yourself from your restraints."

They turn and look at each other before looking back at me, astonished. "What the fuck do you mean?" Asked Theo.

I, once again, laugh. "Come on, you aren't serious, are you?"

Once again, they both look at each other then back at me. "What on earth do you mean?" Chimed in Annie.

"You are both the worst kidnappers that I have ever had the unfortunate fortune to meet."

"How dare you!" Shouts Theo, his face contorted in a way that makes him look even more idiotic than he already is. "Speak to us that way again and you will suffer."

I can't stop myself, I burst out in laughter. "What are you going to do? Tie me up again?"

That's when Theo lunges at me, completely sloppily. I maneuver out of the way, causing him to plummet into the floor.

Once he is stood up again the comes for me once again, and, once again, he is significantly unsuccessful.

That's when Annie joins in, and to give credit where credit is due, she is a better fighter than her brother. She punches, and it almost connects with the side of my face.

"You fucking asshole!" Shouts Annie, trying to clip my jaw again. I simply block her attack, and the same goes for Theo's attempts - as I slowly, but surely, make my way to the door of the room.

I open the door with the cool temperature of the door handle. I am quick with my movements, leading me to find myself on the outside of the door, while I have shut Theo and Annie in, on the other side.
