Entity (Part 5)

Chapa's POV:

One by one, we slowly made our way into the creepy house, noticing right away how creepier it looks on the inside. Miles tries turning on a light, but of course, it doesn't work.

Miles: "Looks like someone forgot to pay their electric bill."

Mika searches in her bag, and finds a flashlight. She clicks it on, and starts to look around. At the same time, Bose and I are looking in another room of the house. As we do so, I hear a familiar noise, then I realize that it's my phone battery getting low. I take it out and see that it's at 15%.

Me: "Shit... it's almost dead."

Bose reaches into his pocket.

Bose: "Here... you can use my phone."

I was surprised by the offer.

Me: "You sure?"

He nods. I smile and as I take his phone, I feel my fingers touching his. I try to hide my blush as I disconnect my headphones from my phone and connect them to his.

Me: "I think there are bigger concerns right now. Like, what if by listening to this song, I start to get sick of it? Will Skillet, like, suddenly lose their magic, or something?"

Bose: "Skillet? Never."

This took me by surprise.

Me: "You're a Skillet fan?"

Bose: "Uh, yeah, now I am."

Me: "Really?"

Bose: "Yeah, mega fan. They saved your life."

He places his hand on my shoulder.

Me: "Besides, we're hot on this creep's trail. We're gonna find him and destroy him before he even thinks about messing with you again."

Bose and I stare at each other for a bit. As something was about to happen between us, we hear Mika.

Mika: "You guys?"

We all follow her voice until we're all looking at a flickering chandelier.

Mika: "You're all seeing that, right?"

Me: "Yeah..."

Bose: "Vecna's here, in this house, somewhere."

Suddenly, we hear rumbling. Then, we feel it underneath our feet. Before we could move, the ground caved in and we were all falling through, screaming our heads off, worried that we would fall to our deaths.

When we hit the ground, our weapons landed somewhere else. It was still dark, so we didn't find them right away. As we all got up, we looked around.

Miles: "Where are we?"

Me: "Looks like Vecna has a secret underground lair, too."

Suddenly, I hear a familiar evil laugh. Oh, no... it can't be.

Vecna: "Right on time."

We all look around to see where he might be hiding.

Me: "Show yourself!"

Vecna: "Up here."

We all look up and see him hanging on the ceiling. He drops down.

Bose: "Look out!"
