Bose's POV:

A lot has happened recently, and I guess I'll start with what happened a few days ago: Chapa broke her arm. Yeah, she actually broke her arm. It wasn't from crime-fighting, and thank god for that. This time was from school, and I was actually there to see it happen.

Apparently, she was in the middle of basketball practice, and she was about to make a basket, but just to make her lose, some jack-off from the opposing team decided to put his foot out in front of her at the last second, while pretending not to know that he was doing it.

Chapa ended up tripping over that asshole's foot, which made the basketball slip from her hands, and she landed hard on her right arm. This made me really panic, and I instantly leapt off the bleachers and went to help Chapa. When I approached her, she saw me hold out my hand, and with her other arm, she grabbed it and I pulled her up.

It was clear that Chapa couldn't continue in the game because of her arm, so I offered to the coach if I could take her down to the nurse, and he said I could. As the both of us headed out the door, this is what I heard going on in the gym...

Coach: "Are you serious, Jackson?! You know you can't do that!"

Jackson: "Hey, in my defense, she should've been paying attention."

Coach: "Oh, that's it. You're out of here!"

Jackson: "Fine, whatever."

When Chapa and I finally reached the nurse's office, the nurse said she could take it from here. I was a little hesitant to leave, but Chapa told me that she'd be fine and that I shouldn't have to miss the rest of gym class for this.

She had a point, so I nodded and walked back to gym class. I was still worried about Chapa. I was really hoping it was nothing serious and that her arm would heal up in a few days.

Turns out I was way off. After school, I got a call from Chapa's mom, who was using Chapa's phone because she wanted her to, and she told me that Chapa ended up breaking her arm when she took that fall.

I asked her mom if the doctors said how long it would take to heal up, which was a stupid question because obviously, they tell you that. She told me that the doctors said it would take two months until the cast was ready to come off.

That moment felt like a bomb just dropped on me. Right now, I was getting really angry at that asshole who made all of this happen, and in my mind, I was picturing myself giving him the old one-two right in his stupid face.

Then, she told me that Chapa really wanted to see me right now. I asked her if I was allowed to, and she said that I could, but just for a little bit, as she needed time to heal. I told her that I'd be over there as soon as possible.

A few minutes later, I arrived at Chapa's house. I knocked on the door, and her mom opened up. She told me to come on in. When I did, she closed the door behind me. When I asked her about Chapa, she told me that she was lying down on her bed, and that I probably shouldn't run up there so quickly.

I thanked her for letting me know, and I went upstairs slowly. When I reached Chapa's room, the door was open. I peaked my head in, and I saw that she was listening to her music, and I saw the cast that she had on. I knocked a few times, and I guess she heard. She sat up and used her one free arm to take both airpods out. She smiled at me.

Chapa: "I was starting to wonder when you'd be here."

Me: "Yeah, same. Umm... how are you doing?"

Chapa: "Aside from my arm being broken in two places, I'm happy to have been able to leave school early."
