Authors note!
Soooooo.... I was bored and went a head and read this story! I cringed a lot at my own writing and I have to say I am really proud of how far my writing has come!!!
I honestly am lazy and don't feel like going back to edit the writing but I want to give you guys one more chapter. It just feels right. I will publish this when I think the time is right so if you are reading this that means I decided to publish the new chapter. If I felt like it I might go back and edit all the spelling errors I found while I was reading it lol!!!
Anyways. lets get to it!

Harrison:
Maxi and Harrison followed the nurse down the quiet hallway until she stopped at Amy's room. She opened the door and stepped inside, holding it for the two, but when it came down to it, when he finally had to face her again, he froze at the threshold. His chest tightened, too scared of what he'd find on the other side.
A hand landed gently on his shoulder, making him flinch. Maxi's sad smile and small nod pushed him forward.
He drew in a shaky breath and forced his feet to move. The first thing he saw was Amy's face, pale, drained of life. A mask covered her mouth and nose, fogging with each breath. The machines around her hummed and beeped in steady rhythms, keeping her alive.
Her closed eyes, her stillness; it all dragged me back to the day she drowned. Death seemed to stalk this girl, and yet every time, she found a way to claw herself back.
He drifted closer until he was by her bedside. Harrison's trembling fingers closed around her cold hand. He swallowed hard. "I-is she... is she going to be okay?" he asked, his voice breaking as he looked at the nurse reviewing her chart.
She glanced up. "Yes. For now, she's stable. They both are. Amy's strong and so is the baby."
"The baby?" Maxi's voice cracked. "So... they'll survive?"
"Amy will," the nurse said gently. "It'll be a long recovery, but she's a fighter. As for the baby... it's still too soon to tell. Right now, Amy's health is our priority. Once she's stronger, we'll run more tests. But for now, yes, both are alive, and we're doing everything we can to keep them safe." She even managed a reassuring smile.
Harrison couldn't speak. His throat was too tight, his eyes too wet. Maxi, thankfully, asked what he couldn't.
"Will she wake up soon?"
"She should. The anesthesia just needs to wear off." The nurse closed the chart and set it at the foot of the bed. "I'll check in again in thirty minutes. Call me if she wakes before then."
And then they were alone.
The silence pressed in on them, broken only by the relentless beeping of the machines. Harrison's hand tightened around hers, as though letting go might mean losing her all over again.
The door creaked open. Hoppo shuffled in, Whip close behind him. Both looked wrecked; their eyes red, their shoulders heavy.
"How is she?" Hoppo rasped.
Maxi explained everything the nurse had said. They both didn't realize until Whip stiffened that they hadn't heard about the baby.
"Baby? What baby? She was pregnant?" His voice was sharp with urgency.
Harrison whispered, barely audible, "Yeah."
Hoppo's gaze snapped to him. "Did you talk to the police? Harrison?"
