Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away.
Christmas. The name sung in my head and stung at my heart. A feeling of dread was building up inside me, as I was afraid of getting hurt again.
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special.
I was on my way to nowhere. Just walking around town, nothing big. I watched all the couples in the park.
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away.
The coffee place was full too. People laughed over coffee and treats. It made me remember all the fun times I had with my ex. Throwing bread at each other and stealing kisses. I went into the room.
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special.
I heard a familiar voice call out as they rounded the corner. Frisk. My emotional wall shattered the built itself up, stronger than before. Their arm was around a nice looking monster. I hid behind a trash can.
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye.
But Frisk saw me move and looked over. No sense of recognition was on that blank face.
Tell me, baby,
Do you recognize me?
Well,
It's been a year,
It doesn't surprise me
They asked what I was doing and if I needed help. I shook my head, but they held out their hand anyway. I pushed myself up.
(Merry Christmas)
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying, "I love you, "
I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been.
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again.
I imagined our first kiss, under the colorful evening sky. After the monsters had been freed, but we moved into a small town.
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away.
Then the Holiday Heartbreak-they left me four days before Christmas.
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special.
I had tried to move on. But I couldn't.
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away.
Frisk had moved on fast.
