War engulfed the entire world ever since the Great Economic Downfall; the result of humanity's continuous wasting of natural resources. Money became obsolete when the Downfall Era began, as what we like to call it.
It makes sense: What is the use of money if you have nothing to spend it with?
All portions of every grocery and convenience store were wiped out. Shops and malls all closed down due to lack of supplies. At that point, any other materialistic item like accessories and shoes became worthless. It is this said disaster which made mankind realize that you could break down your necessities to the simplest things and still manage to live.
If only mankind realized this earlier.
The deafening sound of explosions and gunshots can be heard from outside my underground bunker. North Korea is currently raiding my home country, Philippines, to gather any and all useful supplies they could get. Of course, the Filipinos won't be taken down without a fight; a trait which we inherited from our ancestors. The United States and other allies of the Philippines offered no help, mainly because: a.) they already became allies with the enemies; or b.) their military force might already be worn down by previous assaults and wars.
In an era like this, it is a privilege to own an underground shelter with an ample amount of supplies to last you a year, a desktop computer and internet connection with special access to private sites. I am a retired Admiral of the 57th Special Naval Fleet on Political-Economic Dispute, which is the reason why I have access to all these luxuries. Long underground cables connected to some remaining military servers made it possible for me to have internet access.
Another powerful explosion from the surface occurred, this time a lot powerful than before. The shockwaves from the explosion rippled across and surprisingly went through my thick titanium walls.
I must act quickly. My duty for the country is already done. I'm now facing a different kind of war.
I stretched my fingers and fixed my eyeglasses before starting to type a series of commands and text that will inflict the greatest damage. The bunker was filled with the sound of my keyboard, as if it drowned all the other external noises from the surface.
The enemies retaliated with their own series of text to equal the amount of impact my attacks did to their army. Many others helped in strengthening their forces, but I have my own allies as well. Soon enough, a Cyber-Flame War ignited. From different computers around the country and perhaps even the world, people are typing down on their keyboards, sending powerful sets of 1s and 0s to the internet.
As soon as I finished my sentence and pressed Enter, an explosion more powerful than before broke the door of my bunker, letting a sea of flames flood into my shelter. Before the flames ate my entire body, I smiled.
At least I defended my fandom.
