Fall and break when kissed by death

Love like war with every breath

Soldiers are shot through the heart

Fools in love they have become

The air was heavy with smoke and stenched with blood. You breathe in more gunpowder than oxygen. You live in fear more than you live in hope.

A star fell from the sky as the bullet pierced through his heart. The screams turned into an endless echo. The echoes stretched into silence as I watch you fall slowly to the ground.

Every step feels like light-years away as I crossed the distance between you and I.

"Phillip! Phillip! Phillip!" I kept saying your name like a mantra until I can't recognize my voice anymore.

Bullets are raining on us like falling stars. Screams become music to my ears as the emptiness wraps itself around my heart.

I felt you tug at my hand and you were trying to say something.

"Stop talking Phillip. Stop talking please." I said as I held your hand so close to my heart. I tried to listen to what you were trying to say despite the haze of the bullets and the noise.

Then I heard the words. The words that would ruin me for as long as I live.

"I love you, William. I. Love..." I was rooted to where you are. I was frozen while holding your hand. Time seemed to stop ticking as I sat there right next to your body.

Out of daze, I walked away. I walked away and picked a gun on my way.

I looked up at the sky as a tear fell from my eyes. Then came another until I lost count and I can't tell whether I'm crying or laughing anymore.

Through my tears, a star fell from the sky and I smiled to myself. I wish we have all the time in the world. I wish we could turn back time. I wish I have said the words before. I wish you have known.

I raised the gun to my mouth and prayed my greatest wish of all. "I wish we can be together."
