Chapter: 38
Arno's POV:
We made it back to the bureau safely as I could tell Madeline was angry once again. Thomas was there and he was the one who was ordering those people around along with what they wanted. Madeline wanted to stop him right then and there, but she chose not to. A smile wanted to spread across my lips, but I hold it back as best as I can. It made me proud that she was learning not to go after him head first without coming up with a way to get herself out. She is a smart woman and one that I truly love being with her. She makes me yearn for her in many ways than one.
We made it my office and William was waiting there for us. Madeline snapped out "It was Thomas and he is the one behind the warehouse scheme. We need to put a stop to him immediately"
"We will. He must be trying to get them out soon to the Templars. We need to stop him by stopping whatever he is doing" William murmured.
"Isn't that the understatement of the day?" She asked.
William let out a sigh "I guess so. Okay, here is the plan. We will destroy whatever is in those boxes. We will blow them up and it will cause them a major delayed. Also, I heard back from your father. He agreed to your terms of meeting him"
I nodded "That will have to wait until tomorrow"
"By the sounds of what is happening. We will strike them at dawn when they are getting those boxes out of the warehouse" William nodded before getting back on topic.
We both nodded "Very well then"
William left the office first as I could tell he was really tired of everything that has been going on. I couldn't blame him as I was feeling the exhaustion of the day weighing down on me. This is going to be a little difficult, but my father can wait until later. We have a job to do and no parent of mine is going to get in my way of doing so. Arno squeeze my hand as I look up at him to see him looking down at me. He look exhausted as well, but there was something else there in his gaze. My heart was beginning to beat madly in my chest as the deep yearning spread through me once more.
He murmured in a husky voice "Come. I'll walk you to your room. You need to get some rest"
"Don't we all?" I meant to be loud, but it came out in a soft voice instead.
He chuckled as he brush a couple of strands of my hair away from my face as he murmured "I will get some sleep soon as well"
My cheeks began to burn once more as I nodded "Good"
He chuckled again as he pulled on my hand and we walk over to the door. My heart was telling me one thing and my mind was telling me another. I wanted to kissed him as I never had known the experience before. I was going to let him on the rooftop, but we got interrupted by William once again. I didn't know if I was grateful for the interruption or disappointed that I didn't get to kissed him. What am I thinking? I don't need these thoughts right now and it's not going to help my situation that I am in at all. A soft sigh escape from my lips and Arno look my way, but I didn't look at him.
Soon, we arrive at my door as my heart was beating madly in my chest now. My nerves felt like they were standing on end. The air had grew heavy for some reason as I didn't know why or how. Arno's hand had never left mine and now he is removing his hand. My eyes look up into his to see that he look bother by something, but I wasn't entirely sure if I was right about that or not. He lean in and pressed his lips to my cheeks as he pulled away slowly. He murmured in a husky voice once again "Goodnight Madeline"
I nodded as my voice was soft once more "Goodnight, Arno"
He smile and nodded at me before slowly walking down the hallway. My eyes follow him as I let out a sigh. There is another time and another place for these kind of things. Right now, this isn't the time. I walk into my room and close the door behind me with a soft click. I remove my upper garment as I remove my lower ones as well. My eyes look over at the bed as I imagine something that could possibly be true to happen on that bed. I shook my head as I put on my nightwear. This is not the time being thinking like this. I have other matters to attend to and my feelings have to be put on hold. I can't even begin to think of such things that could possibly happen and not.
