Steven's P.O.V:
"Yeah, it's called fried chicken." I say and blush.
Steven you're being so stupid! I shouldn't tell her that smiling so often makes her more beautiful. I doubt she'd feel the same about me.
"CHICKEN!?" She exclaims.
"Why?" I ask.
"We must save all chickens! They are the source of a joke!" She exclaims.
What does she mean?
~Flashback~
"Why did the chicken cross the road?" Peridot asks.
"I don't know! Why?" I reply.
"TO GET ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD!" She exclaims and laughs.
I laugh along too.
~Flashback ends~
Oh.
"Peridot not all of the chicken dies!" I laugh and munch the chicken.
"Really?" She makes sure.
"Yeah, here, try one. It's really good." I suggest and I hand her the chicken leg.
"Odd shape." She examines and grabs it. She bites one bit and her eyes were like stars.
"SO GOOD!" She exclaims and eats more.
"Glad you liked it!" I exclaim cheerfully.
My ringtone activates.
"Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun!"
"Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun!"
"Excuse me for a while." I respectfully say and I walk out.
I check my phone and I mumble, "Connie."
I answer the call. "Hey Connie."
"Hey Steven. I just wanna ask you something about you and Peridot.."
Peridot?
"What? What about her?" I concernly ask.
"Her? It's about you and-"
"Hello?"
I check my phone and it read 'Weak signal'. I growl and I hold up my phone. SIGNAL PLEASE.
Now, low battery. "UGH!"
I run inside and I look for my charger.
"Watcha lookin'?" Amethyst asks.
"My phone charger because Connie was calling me and the call cut because of a weak signal and now my battery is low."
"First, Connie. This week, Peridot. And now, Connie again." Amethyst smirks.
"Oh c'mon." I say with a furrowed eyebrow.
"Chill! It was just a joke." She raises her arms up.
Speaking of Peridot..
"Okay! Where's Peridot?" I ask and I stop looking for it.
"Dunno." She shrugs.
"Dut, dut, dut, dut!"
I check my phone and I growl. "PHONE IS DEAD. REALLY!?"
"Chill!" Amethyst exclaims.
"I am but she was talking about 'me and Peridot'." I cross my arms in anger.
"Why are you being so mad about it?" She asks.
I blush. "N-Nothing."
Connie was talking about me and Peridot? Is it romantically?
"Are you afraid that Connie's gonna find out?" She asks.
"Find out what?"
"You're in love with Peridot?" Amethyst smirks.
"What!? No!" I exclaim. "I gotta go, see ya."
I walk out and sigh in relief. "Phew."
I forgot to charge my phone! I walk in again and I see Amethyst eating some doritos.
She holds up a triangle dorito. It reminds me of Peridot. I shake my head and I start looking for my charger.
I charge my phone and Peridot walks in. "Hey Peri."
"Hello Steven." Peridot responds. Amethyst goes out.
I have an idea. "Hey Peridot, come with me."
"Why?" She asks.
"Just come!" I exclaim as I reach out my arms to her. "Grab my hand." I wink.
Peridot's face turns dark green and she grabs my hand. "Uh.." She says.
I lead her up the roof and I'm helping her get up.
We both sit down.
"Isn't the sunset beautiful?" I ask.
"It is." Peridot dreamily stares at the wonderful sunset.
I lean closer to her.
"Its colour is indeed beautiful." Peridot comments.
"I know right!" I exclaim and I slowly try to hold Peridot's hand.
"You know..." I start as I'm close to holding her hand. "There IS something, or shall I say, someone, who is as beautiful as the sunset.
"Who?" She asks.
I smile and I hold her hand.
Her face turns dark green. "Is there something wrong?"
Yeah, my warm hands!
"N-No! Nothing's wrong!" She exclaims.
"Alright.." I smirk, but hoping I didn't make her feel incredibly uncomfortable.
"Excuse me." She says and climbs down.
"I can help you if you want." I offer.
"No thanks."
As she goes inside..
"Yes!" I silently exclaims and punched the air.
