Steven's P.O.V:
Oh boy, my feelings are too mixed, I have to choose.
Connie or Peridot?
Peridot and Connie are getting along though, but sometimes they whisper when I go ahead, I wonder what they're talking about.
But hey, Steven! Don't forget you shouldn't invade someone's privacy!
The ride starts, Connie has her arms crossed and Peridot glares outside.
The atmosphere of silence is killing me.
"Uh.." I start? What to say, what to say. I look at Peridot, she seems to be thinking about something deep.
"Peridot, are you fine?" I ask.
She snaps out of it. "Yeah!" She exclaims.
I look at Connie. "Connie, who is the person you hate in school?"
"What?" She asks, like she doesn't know who it is.
"Uh, you said you hated someone in school. Tell me." I say and I chuckle.
"What? No I didn't! She exclaims and laughs. What?
"You don't remember?" I ask.
Her eyes widen, "OH! Yeah, it's just a girl who stole a pen from me. Stole." She looks at Peridot, Connie looks disturbed.
"Oh. Okay." I leave her, I should observe them, I don't think they're getting along.
I grab the alien plushy from my cheeseburger backpack, "Here, Peri." I hand her the alien plushy. "You might need this in case we're going high above the sky."
"Above the WHAT?" She exclaims and hugs her alien plushy.
"You're going to be fine, just keep your eyes open, the view is beautiful, right Connie?"
"Yeah." She says and she has her face redden.
We reach at the top. Peridot glances over the lights with stars on her eyes.
"Amazing.." She mumbles. I lean on her, "I told you, Funland is great."
"Yeah, it is."
We're going down. I slowly try to hold Peridot's hand, my face reddens.
"Steven, can I ask you about something?" Connie asks. I freeze for no reason then I let go of Peridot's hand, Peridot's still glaring over the lights.
"What's up with you and Peridot?" She asks. Peridot snaps, "What!?" We both say in unison.
"What are you talking about?" I ask concernly with my left eyebrow raised, oh c'mon, I start to sweat.
"You and Peridot." She sneers. She's not like this!?
"Yeah, what are you talking about!?" Peridot growls.
"You heard me. Steven, I don't get it, why do you like Peridot?" Connie asks. Oh jeez..
I blush, "W-What!?"
"Steven, your face is as red as your shirt." Connie says.
"P-Peridot and I are just friends, that's all!" I snap defensively. Oh she's not like this.
"Just admit it Steven! Peridot is nothing but a-"
The ride stops, Peridot walks away from the ride and goes outside from Funland.
"Peridot, wait!" I catch up to her at the beach shore, the moon is shining bright tonight.
Peridot turns to me, "I-I.."
"We're not done with this talk, Steven Universe!" Connie growls and grabs my arm.
"What's wrong with you, Connie?!" I snap back.
"It's not your fault! It's Peridot's!" She growls back and lets go of me.
Peridot gasps. "Wow, okay! Now you're using your jealousy for bad."
"Jealousy!? Connie!?"
Connie's face reddens. "Just admit it Steven, you like Peridot! It's not like I don't notice!"
"We're just friends, okay!?" Peridot growls.
Just friends.. It tugs my heart to hear that. I start to sweat.
"I don't get it! You love to be with her, you care about her more than anyone, and you make sure she's alright! WHAT DOES SHE HAVE THAT I DON'T!?" Connie growls and gasps, covering her mouth.
"Connie, don't tell me you're.."
"JEALOUS!? YES! I AM!" She interrupts me.
"And as for you, Peridot. Didn't I tell you to stay away from Steven!?" She growls. "You risked your life! Steven is mine!"
"PERIDOT! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A CREATURE WHO ROAMS AROUND EARTH, YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS PLACE, YOU BELONG IN SPACE, ALIEN FOOL!" She screeches.
"Connie! Just STOP! Stop saying bad things about Peridot!" I growl. "I don't care if she doesn't belong here, in fact, she already does!"
She sighs. "Who do you choose? Me? Or Peridot?"
Oh boy... Mixed up feelings.
"I-I.. Choose.."
"Connie!" Peridot growls. "J-Just stop! I thought you're Steven's best friend!?"
"Yes! I am! But then you came in the way and Steven... likes.. you more." She trails off. "YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!" She shoves Peridot hard.
Peridot whines as she falls on her back.
I summon my shield and I help Peridot stand up. "Connie!"
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? What happened to the Connie I liked, the Connie who was kind, the Connie who was my best friend!?" I growl. "Just go home! We're going home too!"
"Fine! Go home!" Connie growls and storms off.
Peridot starts having tears in her eyes.
"Peridot?"
"L-Let's just accept it. I've caused enough trouble." Peridot says and walks off.
Oh, boy. I run to her. "Wait! Peridot, don't listen to Connie! I lo- like you no matter what!" I give her a big hug.
She blushes. "Thanks."
"But... I'm going to be shattered." She sighs.
