Chapter 38: Forgiveness

Steven's P.O.V:

-Peridot's body-

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaim in fear. "Why am I in Peridot's body!? This must be a new power!" I realize, I need the gems right NOW!

"Pearl!? Amethyst!? Garnet!?" I call out, I feel uncomfortable yelling in this body. Still having Peridot's voice.

"I forgot.." I facepalm. "They're on a mission.." I sigh and I go outside.

"Well I guess I can try out this new power? There must be a reason.." I say. I click my fingers with a new idea.

"Peridot must've used my body!" I exclaim and rush back inside. "Peri?" I go up, seeing a sleeping me..

"Darn it!" I growl. I shake Steven's- I mean my body to wake me up.

"Hello?"

Connie's here! Oh jeez! I guess I should keep this up with Peridot's body for a while. I sigh and I open the door.

"Y-Yeah Connie?" My voice shakes.

"Can I talk to Steven, right now?" Connie asks.

This isn't the right timing.. Man I really need my body back.

"Steven is resting his body for more energy, otherwise known as sleep." I reply in a Peridot way of speaking, smart.

"Oh," Connie frowns. "Well..."

I have an idea! "Connie.."

"Why do you want to get him to be friends? Maybe you just want him back?" I ask.

"Want him back? Didn't you already ask that before?" Connie raises her eyebrow.

Peridot did!? "Jeez.. I guess I forgot after that nap."

Connie chuckles. "Well I can repeat that. I only want to be friends, besides, I have a boyfriend. Steven and I have been friends for a year."

"Oh.. Alrighty then!" I exclaim.

"Okaaaay." Connie shrugs with suspicion, she starts walking away and I wave her good bye. I close the door and I sigh in relief.

I guess Connie is telling the truth.. I can see the sincereness in her eyes.. Time to get my body back! This is my girlfriend's body!

I go to my body and I shake my body. "Wake up!" I shake harder and everything goes black.

-In my own body-

Everything goes back to normal, I see Peridot in front of me and she faints. I sigh in relief seeing myself back in my own body. I look down and I gasp. "Peri, you alright?"

Peridot gives a thumbs up. "What happened!?"

"I... Woke up with your body." I chuckle sheepishly.

"You didn't go to the bathroom, DID YOU?" Peridot asks.

My face turns red as I realize what she meant. "No!" I laugh. Peridot chuckles.

Peridot blushes and gives me a suspicious look. I shrug and I sigh. "Well.."

"I guess I could forgive Connie."

Peridot's eyes widens. "Really!?"

"Uh.. Aren't you glad?" I chuckle and I give her a smile.

"I am but at the same time, I still can't trust her." Peridot snorts and crosses her arms.

"Don't worry, I won't replace you!" I exclaim and I hug her. The hug goes for a long time and soon enough I let go and I smile.

"Let's go, then!" Peridot exclaims and grabs my hand, going out to I don't know.

"Uh, where are we going?" I ask as we walk together on the sand.

"To Connie's home." Peridot beams up. I laugh.

"Do you know where Connie lives?" I ask then I laugh.

Peridot chuckles and blushes. "Uh.. No. But you should lead the way." She places me in front of her.

"Okay." I chuckle.

-Time skip-

I knock on Connie's door. "Uh, Connie?" I call out and Peridot knocks with me.

Connie opens the door with a cup in her hand. Her eyes widen and she puts the cup down. "S-Steven!"

I wave her hi. "Heeeeey.."

"Uh..."

"Er.." Peridot shrugs. We look at each other.

I give in and I sigh.

"I forgive you."

"Yay!" Connie exclaims. "So glad this is over!" She laughs.

Peridot and I laugh along. "Us too." Peridot says and beams up.

"Wanna come over my house?" I ask. "As a friendship party, you can let Zachary come though!"

"Sure!" Connie gives a thumbs up. "So.. Later?"

"Yeah!" I exclaim and Peridot nods in excitement.

To be honest, I want to know more about Zachary. How they became together as a couple and what his personality is. This party is going to be fantastic. Not really a massive party, just a simple one. But it's gonna be awesome!
