Chapter 4: Going To Eat

Steven's P.O.V:

I wake up with a yawn. That was so comfortable! I turn to Peridot and find her sleeping.

I hope she's comfortable on my bed.

"Heya Ste-man." A familiar voice calls out to me.

I turn around. "Hey Amethyst!"

She shapeshifts into a bird and flies onto Peridot.

"Woah, she learned how to sleep? Pearl said that no gem should sleep but she's wrong!" Amethyst laughs.

I chuckle and blush.

"Yo, yo, yo. Why are you blushing?" Amethyst shapeshifts into her regular self and smirks.

"Nothing!" I exclaim awkwardly. Gah, Steven why did you have to make it more awkward!

"You're blushing harder." She chuckles.

I blush even harder. "Eh, it's nothing, really."

"Pfft. There's something going on between you and Peridot. Am I right?" She asks and nudges me.

I push her gently. "No!"

"Well, whatever it is between you two, I still ship-"

"Good morning Steven." Garnet interrupts Amethyst.

"Good morning." I reply and jump off to the couch.

"Amethyst, come." Garnet says.

"Future vision tricks." Amethyst smirked. "See ya later Ste-man!" She says and jumps off with Garnet.

They walk out and talk as they hop off the temple.

I sigh in relief. "She's gone now."

I walk up the stairs and look at Peridot. "Hope you slept well." I say.

I walk down the stairs and I go outside for a donut.

Not in the mood for a normal breakfast, so, I'm gonna eat at the Big Donut. Would Peridot like a donut though? I shouldn't disturb her. I have an idea, I'll bring her a mint donut, her colour, green!

I arrive at the Big Donut and I push the door open. "Hey guys!"

"Hey Steven." Sadie greets. Where's Lars?

"Where's Lars?" I ask.

"Late." She says with furrowed eyebrows.

"You guys should get along." I suggest and walk up to the counter.

"I tried!" She exclaims. "But he's really getting on my nerves." She crosses her arms.

"That's where love starts." I say. OOPS! Shouldn't have said that.

"What?" She asks in confusion.

"NOTHING!" I raise my hands. "By the way I'd like to order one chocolate donut and a mint donut." I change the subject.

"Okaaaaay. This is the first time you've ordered a mint donut, did you change?" She asks.

"Oh, not really, the mint one is for Peridot." I point out.

"Peridot, huh?" She smirks. "Isn't that your other best friend?"

I chuckle and blush. "Yeah."

"Alright." She grabs a chocolate and a mint donut. She puts it on a bag and gives it to me. "You should let Peridot eat at the best donut place."

"Yeah!" I exclaim.

"Actually, I was just kidding." She corrects me.

I really want her to taste the donuts.

"No, really, I'll bring her here." I say and I wave her goodbye. I exit and walk back to the temple.

~Time skip~

I wonder if Peridot would like to eat there, after all, she hasn't eaten anything yet.

I reach the temple and walk up to it. I open the door.

Oh, Peridot is already awake. She's not on my bed.

"Peridot?" I call out.

No response. She's probably in the bathroom.

I open the bathroom door and widen my eyes.

Peridot is pressing the flush valve. She looks at me and "NYAH!"

"H-Hey Steven.."

I laugh. "Peridot have you been pressing that for too long?"

"No... Maybe?"

"Yeah." She sighs.

"It's alright, come here, I got something to show you." I offer and grab her hand.

"Where, exactly?" She asks.

"The Big Donut. It's a donut shop." I explain and I'm taking her to the Big Donut.

"Eat? Like how I ate the cereal you gave me?" Peridot asks.

"Yeah!" I exclaim. "But this is more delicious." I add.

I see a familiar person in front of the Big Donut.

"Connie?" I walk up to her while holding Peridot's hand.

"Slow down!" She exclaims.

Connie turns to me.

"Hey Connie!"
