24/9/16:
Wow, looking back at this, my writing's changed a lot...

*****

You sullenly walked to school. Midorima and Takao were already there because they had morning practice. They had said that you could come and watch, but you needed to take a break due to the fact that you had started to have 'more than platonic' thoughts about a certain carrot. You had had these thoughts unconsciously, but had always passed them off as something a friend does. It had only registered into your dense skull that you liked Midorima when you saw a girl blatantly flirting with him a few days ago, and you got extremely jealous.

*flashback*

A loud bang disturbed the practice of the Shuutoku Basketball Club. Everyone's attention was drawn to the door, and a few seconds later, the sound of Midorima's shot hitting the ground filled the silence. Standing near the door, wincing, was a petite girl with a skirt hitched a little too high, and a shirt unbuttoned a little too much.

"Ah! Gomenesai!! I didn't mean to slam the door! Gomenesai..." her voice trailed off as she eyed Midorima while bowing. This allowed everyone to get a perfect view of her black, lacy bra.

Murmurs filled the air, and Shin-chin looked away while blushing. "Ano, Mido-chan, may I talk to you for a minute,"

This led to theories about her being Midorima's girlfriend, and if your schoolbooks could talk, they'd probably tell everyone how unhappy you were with this. You were gripping them that tightly. Takao worriedly glanced at you.

"H-hai," Midorima said uncertainly. I shouldn't be thinking as if I'm jealous, you thought to yourself. Midorima is his own person with control over his own actions. I must be thinking this because I know how much of a slut she is...after all, I do care about his safety. He is my friend after all.

He followed her out of the gym; no one dare speak. Nakatani-senpai decided to break the awkward air by calling everyone's attention, and giving them a break.

"(N/N)-chan, can you refill my bottle? Arigato," Takao handed you the bottle and winked. You felt a little confused by his actions, but went into the hallway to fill the bottle. Secretly, you were a little relieved that you had an excuse to eavesdrop on your friend's conversation. Arriving at the fountain, you realized two things:

a) The fountain was too far to completely hear the conversation

and

b) Midorima was being confessed to

You tried to hear snippets of the confession, and were successful.

"I like you and was..." said the girl. (You learned that her name was Sakiko)

"...I l-like...and w-would li-like t-to..." Midorima stuttered in return. The bottle started to overflow. Heading back to the gym, you handed the bottle back to Takao.

"Ne, (N/N)-chan, what was she there for?" His voice was filled with curiosity, and you carefully picked your next words.

"I believe he received a confession. At least, that's what I heard..." Your voice trailed off at the end. You weren't sure if you wanted to hear what Midorima had told Sakiko. You, for some reason unbeknownst to you, wanted him to say no to her.

"And you're okay with that?" Takao said while getting off the bench. Looking at where Takao was looking, you saw Midorima entering the gym with a beet red face and constipated expression.

"Why wouldn't I be?" you said. You had already had these thoughts by yourself in the hallway when you were approaching the gym. Takao unexpectedly turned towards you and leaned forward. You didn't move out of shock, and could only stand frozen as he whispered in your ear, "You really are a dense girl, aren't you?"

You blushed and looked away. You didn't see the shit-eating grin appearing on Takao's face and Midorima's pointed glare in his direction.

*Flashback Over*

As you entered the school, you felt a little uncomfortable because you weren't surrounded by the usual banter of your two friends. You walked towards your locker, and changed your shoes. Only when you stood up to place your outside shoes in your locker did you see a handwritten note in a familiar handwriting. You were about to open it when Takao and Midorima approached your locker from behind.

"EEEHH? (N/N)-chan got a love note??" he slung his arm around your shoulders and tried to take the letter from you to read it. You elbowed him in the stomach and ducked to escape his arm.

"Why do you sound so surprised, Bakao? This isn't the first time I've received one of these," you retorted. Techinically, you weren't lying, but it was rare for this to occur because the boys always thought that you were dating either Takao or Midorima.

"W-well, open it," you looked at Midorima, surprised. "Not that I care, nanodayo."

You pried the envelope open and scanned the letter. It didn't reveal much, and only said that you should go to the rooftop at lunch. You told the either two that.

"Should we go with you? We'll protect you from lover boy," Takao offered. Well, your interest level had dipped significantly because there was only one person that you wanted a letter from. It obviously couldn't be Midorima if he had offered to go with you. Well, indirectly offered.

You chuckled to cover up your disappointment. "I'll be fine, Kazu-kun. But arigato," you looked at the two of them and told them that you were heading to class.

The time to lunch dragged on, and you were slowly dying. Well, faster than the average person because everyone is dying. When the final class finished, you were the first one off of your chair and out the door. As you went to the rooftop, your mind made up extravagant fantasies that were distryed when you saw no one there. You quickly brushed it off thinking that you had just come early.

5 minutes passed...

Then 10 minutes...

Tears filled your eyes as you came to the conclusion that you had been pranked, and you cursed yourself for getting your hopes up.

But footsteps started to accompany your soft sobs, and you turned around to see the last person that you expected.

Midorima.

A look of alarm flitted around on his face when he saw you crying. "N-No don't cry. P-Please. Takao made me late, sumimasen," he brushed off your tear tracks with the calloused pad of his thumb.

"Why are you here, Shin-chin. You should be having lunch with your girlfriend, not comforting me,"

Now it was his turn to look confused, and he dropped his hand. "What girlfriend?"

"T-the girl that c-confessed to you a f-few days ago," You choked out.

You opened the door and leave when you heard Midorima barely say, "But I l-l-like you," You stopped dead in your tracks, not daring to say anything or turn around. "I t-told her I l-like someone else and r-rejected her,"

Suddenly, you turn around and run up to him. He barely managed to catch you and keep his balance. Throwing your arms around him for support, you give a tender and sweet kiss. When you pull back for air, you giggle lightly at his red face and gaping mouth.

"B-But do you like me? Not that I care, nanodayo,"

I said in the description that this would be a book that doesn't have a specific theme. I'll just have the children of my thought processes fill this up...
