Teiko had the tradition that on game days, the basketball players would give their jerseys to their girlfriends/best friends/someone and that person would wear the jersey all day until the game. The players would wear their game jerseys all day until the game.
(Btw there are two jerseys that each person has- one for home games and one, in different colors, for away games. If the game was a home game, the 'person' would wear the away jersey.)
ANYWAYS
Everyone on the basketball team would ask Kuroko to wear their jersey, and he'd always respond saying, "I'm sorry. It's really hot, and I don't like wearing multiple layers."
This would reference the fact that others asked him to wear their jersey and he had to wear his own.
