You watched as he threaded his fingers through her hair, a grin on his face showing how content he was. Aomine leaned back and Momoi looked up at him once his fingers stilled. "Why'd you stop?"

Aomine smirked back before replying, "Well, well, looks like you'll have to ask nicely."

"Dai-chan! That's no-"

"Ugh," Aomine grimaced, "you sound like that Oikawa asshole when you call me that."

"Oikawa-san! You've met him before?" Momoi had suddenly become a light bulb. Her face illuminated and radiated her excitement.

(Tooru-kun was the only one whom knew of your exasperation with a certain basketball player. You'd known him since you were little; someone could say you'd met him before.)

"Oi, he's bad news. Don't get mixed up with him." The bluenette looked up to you, and you quickly averted your eyes. He still noticed, to your chagrin. Aomine leaned back, but returned to playing with Momoi's hair with a content, light smile.

(He just couldn't stop being adorable, could he?)

"But Dai-chan, I wish I could've met him." Momoi returned to her notebook, looking at her iPad every few moments to copy her notes. A pout was formed by her pink lips.

(You were jealous and disbelieving how she was so used to the PDA shown by Aomine.)

You looked at Akashi, who was directing Kise and Midorima on the play. They had needed help with it, SO Akashi had decided to help them during practice- everyone else was having a short break. Akashi's red hair was matted with sweat, but a rare smile was existent on his face.

You imagined that the red hair was blue, and that the skin was tanner. In your dreams, that smile was directed to you.

(It never was.)

But Aomine noticed. He just disguised his disappointment with a smirk, and wished he was the object of your attention.

(He was.)

And when it was finally time to clean up the gym and go home, you braced yourself for the daily pain that had become routine. Aomine would naturally drift over to Momoi and then help her out of habit with whatever she was doing. Then the gym would close, you'd call Tooru-kun.

(It was routine, and it killed you every time.)

"Today was good." Akashi's eyes met yours and gave you a knowing smile. You were suddenly too aware of the tan arm draped over your shoulders. The huddle was getting very claustrophobic.

(Aomine was aware, and he liked how your body felt next to his.)

"You may now leave. Thank you for your hard work." Akashi nodded as he looked at everyone in acknowledgement. A smile landed on your face in return. He really could be a nice captain.

(And Aomine didn't like that at all.)

"Well, see you everyone!" You opened the gym door and was about to leave. "I'll see you to-"

"Would you like me to walk you home?"

(Aomine didn't know why he burst out like that.)

"Excuse me?"

(Your palms were a little sweaty, and your nose was tingling.)

"Well, I mean- it's- ugh." Aomine took a deep breath. "It's getting dark outside, and it's not safe?" Midorima scoffed and looked away from this nightmare.

(Aomine was sure he'd screwed up.)

A blush sprinkled over your cheeks.

(He hasn't messed up at all.)
