Your petite arms wrapped around Aomine's neck were the only thing he could focus on. They anchored him to the ground and reminded him that when, if, he returned, he'd have someone waiting for him.

You snuggled your nose into his new uniform, promptly getting a little bit of snot onto your boyfriend's jacket. "Do you-" a hiccup interrupted you, "do you have to l-leave n-now?"

Your whisper may have been faint in an everyday situation, but this maybe the last time you ever saw each other. The man tilted your head to look up at him, and unshed tears glistened and made his eyes lighter. Aomine had heard you, and could swear that your words drowned everything else out.

He leaned down and his lips rested on yours, maybe one last time. Tears mixed in with the action, making the kiss truly bittersweet. "I'll be back. I promise."

Pulling your head away from his grasp, your arms flung around his neck in a vice-like grip. You just wanted to remember how his body felt against yours, how his baritone voice spoke ever-so-sweetly to you. His sparkling eyes were burned into your memory, and you prayed you'd never forget what Aomine looked like.

"You better come back," your sniffles provided background music to your next words. "I want to see you in glasses again."

An exasperated look crossed the ex-basketball player's face, and immediately the tension in the air was reduced a little. "Is th-"

A loud honk notified the two of you that your limited time was up.

Aomine's hand lingered on your hip as he was forced to leave. His eyes were filled with sorrow and urges of regret, but you did your best to make him regret nothing. You tried to stand strong so that Aomine had no second thoughts. It's make the process easier.

As Aomine got into the car that Imayoshi was driving, you waved in farewell. Aomine was watching you as the car pulled away, and was craning his head to catch a glimpse of your tear-tracked face.

"Don't forget me, Daiki."
