Georginio Wijnaldum: Midfielder

This transfer rumour went from "No way" to "YNWA, mate! You'll do great at Anfield!" real quick. Not as quick as Ragnar's though. Savy business by Klopp and co. right now.

Wijnaldum comes in at 5'9, the same height as Mané. This means that we are still progressively getting taller in midfield, as Klopp wants taller and stronger people to help press in a more effective way this coming season.

Though people may be upset with this signing, he has scored eleven goals in the Premier League, more than Lallana who scored four, Can who scored one, Allen with two and Milner who scored five. Just a quick reminder that he is only 25, younger than three out of the four that I mentioned, so he has time to grow and develop the skill that he obviously has under Klopp and become great. He also has the lungs of a horse, willing to be impressive on and off the ball to create space and create the forever press we want and Klopp loves. Though he does have CAM like numbers and did play in that position a lot for Newcastle, Klopp will want to play him next to Can or Hendo, possibly coming in for one if injuries or suspensions come up. Or outright replacing them. And,  for the added bonus, he is from the Netherlands. Like Kuyt. I shall say no more.

What to expect is goal threats from everywhere. Now, should we play with Sturridge, Firmino, Coutinho, Mané, Can and Wijnaldum (not even including the centerbacks like Sakho and Lovren), that's a huge amount of goals. Last year, around the start of the season, we were relying on our goals from only three places: Benteke, Ings and Coutinho. Now we have just about the whole team ready to add to the scoreline. As well as the goals, there is added pace and strength.

He's 25 years old, but already has Premier League experience so there won't be a very shaky transition to a new league but a new team. I'm sure that at the start of the season, Newcastle was not pressing. Or, doing anything resembling football to be honest. But he is a very athletic person that wants to work until the job is done and if he keeps at it with that attitude, he'll have no problem fitting in and having Klopp like him.

For £25m (initially £23m but add ons could raise it to £25m) in this crazy transfer window, it's good business. He has talent there for all to see, but now it's Klopp's job to do his thing and work on the field and continue to be a work horse. Though he has not won anything at Newcastle, he has at Feyennoord and PSV Eindhoven as well as getting to third place in the most recent World Cup. It means he has the experience of a final and will be level headed when he goes into one in his coming seasons as a red. Though not everyone wanted him as Newcastle were relegated, people will want him as he bosses the field with the rest of the guys. And just to think, second time two people have been signed/sold in a day and it's not even the end of the transfer season!
