Somewhat Mid-Season Look

Though we've just played and after Stoke it would actually be mid-season then, I'd like to do this now before it gets clustered then.

First off, just look at the table!

Though we royally screwed up in a few matches, we're still in second place!

Though we royally screwed up in a few matches, we're still in second place!

This is something I could have never imagined before the season started, especially after last year. Last year, we were in 9th place, where Everton are now. Now, we're guaranteed to go to Europe practically (Europa if stuff hits the fan and CL should our good run continue perfectly), top scoring team in the league and . . . WE HAVE A POSITIVE GOAL DIFFERENCE GOING INTO THE NEW YEAR!

I remember this being a cited problem by many Liverpool fan sites but we've changed overnight and have a double digit one too. Our defense is just as good (or bad) as City's and just about the same as Arsenal's and United's.

Remember, commentators have said that we will not win the league with our defense. Here's to showing them that they have a problem with how we're trying to win the league, but not so much with everyone else as they still give City a chance. We have a total of 5 defensive errors leading to goals, about the same with Arsenal and City. But this is very promising, considering this is our first full season with Klopp. Yes, we still have problems, but if our problems are keeping us in second, imagine us without them.

Here's the second half of the table:

The only problems I see when it comes to picking up points on this part of the table is West Ham, Stoke,  Leicester, Burnley and Swansea

The only problems I see when it comes to picking up points on this part of the table is West Ham, Stoke,  Leicester, Burnley and Swansea. We can defeat smaller teams now, but we seem to be picking and choosing which ones. Swansea are a problem to me because of the new American manager being able to pick up points in a random fashion that I can't really predict nor try to understand. To be honest, I think I would be more predictable . . . Mostly because I would anyways lose. Ha!

I'm actual surprised by our top goal scorers in the league! Well, not really. I was just wondering if you'd agree with me on it if I said that.

Sadio is our top goal scorer and in 11th place in the league, Lallana coming in 15th and Milner 17th

Sadio is our top goal scorer and in 11th place in the league, Lallana coming in 15th and Milner 17th. What surprised me the most about this is that our percentages are lower than everyone else's and we're the top scoring team! It shows we've learned to not depend on one player far too much as we lost Coutinho and people expected us to drop out of top four. Same thing with Lallana and we're still better than every team but one. We're definitely a machine.

On to the assists!

How is Coutinho still up there? Everyone is absolutely slacking if Coutinho is 7th and by the time he comes back, could jump in place quickly

I'm very disappointed in Özil, though. He's supposed to be fighting it out with De Bruyne up there but he's lower than someone from West Brom!  Lallana comes out tied in second, which is a surprise considering people saying that he has no end product. If he has no end product, then United isn't a joke. Which it is.

Passing? Passing it is!

Look at that, no one is near him

Look at that, no one is near him. If they give an award for this, Hendo obviously deserves it. He has been a rock in the midfield that no one thought possible. Even though he's had only one goal, I wouldn't care if at the end of the season, it's still just one goal. That one was an absolute rocket and I could watch it for ages.

Dejan comes in second, which again, no one thought possible like Hendo. The fact that he's putting out these numbers shows a new Dejan we've been waiting for since he came here. He was very stable and good on the eye yesterday, even with Klavan having Lukaku in his pocket all match.

Overall, we're above expectations before the season, but below or at the expectations throughout the season. That's because football is . . . football.

While I still have your attention, Liverpool is conducting a survey on your problems that you may have with the club. The survey ends on Thursday and you can find it on the website so fill it out to have your voice heard! I'll try to post the link to it at a later time.
