United fans are already glee with excitement.
They believe our form is weak and our players are burning out underneath our O so Lovable German. Our form is four wins in a row and a draw. There's is five wins in a row.
But hey, that doesn't matter if you don't look at the context.
We played Middlesbrough (16th), Everton (7th), Stoke (9th), City (5th) and Sunderland (19th). And they've played Crystal Palace (17th), West Brom (8th), Sunderland (19th), Middlesbrough (16th) and West Ham (12th).
That doesn't even mention the fact that we've had less time to recover after playing than nearly everyone in the Premier League. But hey, Klopp, people that write the match schedule, what's the difference between them to United fans? Plus, the matches are practically lined right beside each other and it shows that they played people of a lesser quality than those that we played. Especially that City match.
But let the deluded United fans sing.
They need something to sing about after being in 6th since Week 11 and we've been living it up in the Top 4.
That will all change if we don't step up and it's a well known fact that form flies out the window in a Derby match.
Everyone around us has done well this weekend and look at the lead with a sense of pride after their matches. We'll want to do the same.
Plus, this is at Old Trafford.
When we played against them at Anfield, they stayed back because they were truly frightened of us. After all, we were scoring goals left and right and having the time of our lives. They, on the other hand, were incapable of scoring if their lives depended and did the one thing they're only good at: parking the bus.
But now they're pumped.
They're excited.
They think they're in the form of their lives.
So they'll fall right into our traps.
You could remember our earlier and best matches this season with fondness. They were all times when people thought they could beat us if only they played their way, just better. And then we just press them into mistakes. We make them second-guess the system and their quality and then GOAL!
We just need to remember who we are and why this is a derby to get the result we deserve and want to get back into second place and close to Chelsea again. Bad result, and Chelsea practically have the league.
Plus, Coutinho made an appearance against Southampton. Henderson is said to come back for this match, with Can not really able to fill our captain's shoes, though it was something to be expected. And, Matip, our best center back for a mile, is also said to have a spot for this derby.
They have lost their best center back, Eric Bailly from Côte D'Ivoire, to AFCON and we have lost Sadio Mané. Think about it, they've lost their best center back and us one of our most helpful wingers and yet, we still have people to help us anyways.
Coutinho is still on fire, even after being out. Maybe a wayward shot or two is still around, but he's still around to excite. Henderson is no nonsense. So, obviously, he won't like being around half the United team and give it to them. Matip has been creating little pockets on his shorts for strikers since he's been in the Premier League, maybe he'll keep Ibra and all the other strikers they may or not put up there.
Either way, we may not have the same giant names as they do, but we have a sort of fire that they don't. Just look at how many goals they've scored and the points they have and you'll understand.
A point taken away from this will be sad. We must make the Red side of the Merseyside proud today. The guys need to put their best foot forward or this won't be a good way to start the final sprint of the season and stay in top four.
Up the Reds! Down with the Mancs!
