It's Been Nice Knowing You: Jordon Ibe

That's TWO in one day! Seriously, I know Klopp means well, but this is getting slightly obsessive on his part with all the selling surprisingly much higher than we got the person or what we valued them at. Anyways, Jordon Ibe, Liverpool and Bournemouth have announced today that he will be leaving today, 14 July, for £15m (Bournemouth's club record) with the buyback clause as well as add-on deals in there, much like Canós.

Ibe came to us from Wycombe Wanderers for an undisclosed fee at 16 years old, quietly going into the Under-18s for the 11-12 season. In the next season, he was an unused sub against Southampton and after two months, in the final match of the season, he started and assisted Coutinho, who scored the only goal of the match against Queens Park Rangers and then subbed off for Borini after a great performance.

In the 14-15 season, Ibe was loaned to Derby County, scoring five goals in twenty four appearances, a good return for a youngster. During the season, the loan was cut short as he made his first PL start of the season against Everton that ended in a scoreless draw, but his good strike and good performance got him the man of the match award. Just three days later, he started in the 3-2 win against Spurs and was involved in the winning goal. Not too long after, he played in the match against Beşiktaş and won a penalty, which Balotelli converted to end the match 1-0 to us. Around the end of the season, he signed a five year contract, which would have kept him here until 2020. That just wasn't meant to be.

In the pre season of the 15-16 season, Sterling left the club and Ibe was totted to be his successor. That we could just count the money and laugh, as we had Ibe and nothing would matter. One, we spent almost all that money on Benteke and two, no Ibe wasn't what people said he was. Who would have guessed that?

This passed season was filled with mixed results for him, scoring his first Liverpool goal against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League and scoring important goals against Stoke and West Brom. Still, you could almost find a negative link between him and certain results which we won or lost. For example, when we lost to Villareal, we threw Ibe on as he had some pretty good matches and was used to playing in Europe and coming on for a great player. Instead, he kept his head down and dribbled straight into people. Now, I'm not saying he should have Roberto Firmino/Philippe Coutinh-esque impact on a game but he should be bringing stuff to the table like Sheyi Ojo. Still, there is the possibility to get him back when he does grow to a standard that is what we want to see. Hopefully he gets there.

YNWA Jordon. Boss it with the Cherries and hopefully we'll see you back in Anfield where you belong.
