This was a much longer title than I'd thought it'd be. But it isn't as negative as it was just 24 hours ago, so this is good.
Starting it off, Joel Matip picked up an muscle injury against West Brom. Remember, that match was Sunday. It's Sunday again, so it means that he's had time to RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and do a bit of light training. He's hopeful that he can play, but I wouldn't put my money on it. Right now, it's just hopeful and Joel's still got a chance for match day, but not the biggest.
Ragnar cannot, will not play. He's still bothered by the knee injury that kept him out last match, so there's no way he can come in.
Lucas also has an injury too. It's a muscle injury, just like Matip, but will affect him more because he's older and has had his fair share of injuries already.
What does this mean?
Joe Gomez has a good chance of playing today!
He's been doing well for the U23s these past few weeks and it'd be a nice way of rewarding him.
Still, this is a must win match just like the last two, so putting him out could be a problem if he can't handle it for some reason or another.
Either way, match day team has just been put out and maybe Matip is on or on the bench. Maybe not even around it.
Let's get those three points no matter what!
