Injury Apocalypse: Adam Freakin' Lallana

Haha, I had a feeling I'd write this.

I had such a feeling I already made a bit of a draft. I just guessed the wrong player. Thought it'd be Firmino since he hasn't played for Brazil in a while and all, but hey, England is apparently very desperate for the win.

Having played 66 minutes on Wednesday against Germany and then the full 90 against Lithuania, this being Sunday, I'm sure you're starting to see where I'm getting at.

Why was he allowed to go on that long??

To be truly honest, I don't care if Wayne Rooney went the whole match both days. He's not my player. Lallana is. I don't see that time in between the two as a good enough space to recover from one match and go to another, especially when he's in such an important position as he is. But I guess there are guys in Champions League squads that do it a lot, so maybe I'm making a lot of fuss for nothing and those commentators will site me as another way the game is getting soft.

Whatever, I'm just mad and upset that Lallana is out. And only for a 2-0 win against Lithuania even.

Anyways, he's out for up to a month. Meaning no Merseyside Derby. Meaning possible no Bournemouth, Stoke, West Brom and Crystal Palace if he is really out for all 4 weeks. And only a possibility against Watford. Mother. Of. God.

Hopefully, though, four months is the longest he is going to be out and he misses up to Stoke at most. We are pretty good with these injury timelines, so I hope that Lallana is going to come back quickly the same way Can and Karius did.

This means that Henderson may have to be rushed into the Starting XI because it seems that he's coming back nicely, but I can see Klopp being a bit wary about that. Or Lucas Leiva will be returning to his defensive midfielder position he had before. We could even go back to the two men as anchors sort of style that we had last year, with Can and Wijnaldum being the anchors this time rather than Can and Henderson (à la last season) to not risk anything.

(This is what I mean by two-man anchor)

(We could also go like this if we want to keep the preferred formation)

Either way, we see or formation change and two players (Coutinho and Origi) shoehorned into positions they know but are not totally comfortable with. It makes me a bit worried for this Saturday's match, not having Lallana and all that. Let's just end the international break here. Just fly everyone back, bubble wrap them, and call it a night.

That's it (hopefully)!
