Injury Apocalypse: International (And Leg) Break

I love and hate this break.

I mean, I love football. I love watching Brazil be Brazil and I love knowing that the US is more likely to lose than win in any given match and every win is pretty freaking lucky.

But . . . there's always the injuries. It's why I titled this miniseries the way I did, it sucks. Always sucks. It has sucked, it sucks now, it will forever suck. No way around it.

So, of course, Gini had an injury scare. He got a head injury on Wednesday afternoon in training and had to leave at once because he didn't feel well at all. But it's all good now and he will play against Bulgaria on Saturday, tomorrow. Wish he wasn't, but he's going to.

Lovren was on the bench last week due to passing the fitness test but coming back a bit late, so bench service was all he got. It's pretty good progress as he was out with a knee injury, and with a knee injury of my own, I can say that only three games away from the field isn't bad at all.

Henderson's edging closer to match fitness after that injury against Leicester City. He went on that Tenerife 'mid-season' trip (I should get one of those condo things there, they seem to go often) to get that extra training so it shows progress. Day he comes back? Klopp's hoping that it'll be on the day of the Merseyside Derby.

Sturridge? Stayed behind because he's injured. I'm a bit out of hope with this one. Love the guy, I really do, but this is getting painful. C'mon man, one last run for us before something possibly happens.

Everton news before the derby:

Seamus Coleman, Irish right back, sustained a horrible leg injury recently against Wales. It's believed that his season is now totally over as it's his right leg being broken off of a nasty tackle. Sad to see it end this way, because I'm sure it was painful.

Finally, Everton are hoping Schneiderlin can come back in time for the Derby. At first, the calf problem was fought to be big, but after further examination, they're starting to see that they were worried over very little. It's up to Schneiderlin if he wants to face Liverpool as a rival yet again.

See you before the Derby, hopefully!
