Chapter 54

Ethan P.O.V.
I walked in as I saw her with tears in her eyes. She looks at me with a light smile on her face.

"Ethan?" She asked.

"Lucy.." I said sitting next to her.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm here for you".

She slightly looked away.

"Aren't you supposed to be with your girlfriend?"

"Chloe and I broke up".

She turns back at me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry.."

"It's ok, I didn't really like her anyway".

"Ethan I-"

I cut her off by kissing her. God, it felt so good to be able to kiss her again. Butterflies in my stomach like when we had our first kiss back in high school.

"I love you.." I whispered caressing her cheek.

"Ethan..you can't love me.."

"Don't tell me what to do, I've waited a long time for this moment" I said kissing her neck.

She let's out a small moan as kept kissing her neck. She pulls me away..

"Ethan stop.."

"I'm sorry I just-".

"No it's ok, just...don't love me ok? You deserve much better.."

"I hate it when you say that.."

"Ethan..you have to forget me.."

"Why?.."

"Your brother will explain everything, just don't come back for me.."

I notice that my necklace was still wrapped around her neck.

"You still have my necklace..".

She looks at it surprised.

"What? How did it get here? I took it off".

"And I suppose you threw it on the road?"

"How did you know?".

"I picked it up".

"Oh.."

"Please keep it this time, I want to let you know that I'll always love you".

"I love you too Ethan" she said kissing my cheek.

A tear went down my face. It's been so long that I've heard her say that. Hearing her say "I love you too" just makes me weak.

"Sir, it's time for you to leave" the doctor said behind me.

"Alright, just give me one more minute".

"Very well" he said leaving the room.

I turned around facing Lucy and softly kissed her lips.

"See you soon.." I whispered.

"Goodbye Ethan" she said.

I left the room and went join the others outside.

"Ethan, over here!" I heard Grayson shouting.

I looked at my left and there he was in his car with Sam. He drove the car in front of me and I got in.

"So did you kiss her?" Grayson asked with a smirk.

"Umm..yeah.." I replied blushing.

"Aww" Sam said smiling.

"Then what happened?" Grayson asked.

"She kissed me back".

"Nice.."

"But she said that I couldn't love her..".

" *sighs* Ethan..there's something you need to know..".

"What?" As I started to worry.

"Lucy will forget us..".

"What do you mean?." As I started tearing up.

"She has a tumor in her brain and to survive she has to take it off. Meaning that if she did, she'd lose her memory".

"No..".

"Ethan buddy.."

"No..I can't lose her. When will the operation start?"

"Tomorrow morning".

"I have to see her before it's too late".

"Ethan, there's nothing you can do about it. She'll lose her memory and that's final..".

"I can't lose her Grayson..I won't be able to live without her..".

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to bring her memory back".

"But it won't work. She won't trust you!".

"Ethan, calm down.."

I started crying my eyes out. I just couldn't believe that the person that I just admitted my love to,would actually forget me..I love Lucy and I'll never forget her. But her not knowing who I am later on and not be able to tell me that she loves me, just breaks my heart. I need to know that she loves me, I need to know if later on she won't love anyone else but me. What will happen when I'll walk in her room after the surgery? Will she freak out? Will she still remember me? I don't know..maybe this is over. Maybe I shouldn't have got feelings for her. She'd probably love someone else later on..
God what am I going to do? Please make her remember me..
