We only expect that only James's family and relatives are here...but not the entire block!

"Hehehe! Apologies that if did oriented you earlier." James scratched his head once again. "You see...our family hosts the feast for our home block...we make the most delicious dishes here. And since I've tasted your delicious cooking...I might help you in becoming the best cooks...at least in our village. Hehehe!"

Hearing James's orientation, Alice and Alex...the rivals in cooking...looked at each other and grinned.

"Okay, Alex. Right now, we need to make a truce from our deal...and join hands together to make their feast more scrumptious and delicious! What do you say, buddy?"

"Hey! No fair! That means I'm gonna be your slave for the day!" Alex replied to her offer. "You need to have an exchange offer so that you can convince me."

"Wow...I never seen you so arrogant. Alright, fine!" Alice gave in on his persuasion. "Let's see...umm...how about...I will treat you one of these days...how about that?"

"Hmm...okay. Let's have a truce but remember...you asked for it, okay?"

Alex and Alice shook hands together, signifying their truce. Well, when these two cooks working together, I'm sure they will make a better dish...more than what may James...or his visitors is expecting. But...

"Danica and Claire, we need your help, okie?" Alice then winked at me. "I need you guys to work with us for our dish as well...the more, the better, understand?"

"I'm always on your side, Alice!" I winked back at her. "I will do our best to make the best dish ever! Hehehe!!!"

The house is really jammed with people when we entered...it seems that all walks of life are here...not just James's family...but also their neighbors, friends, long-distance relatives...and even buddies that James didn't know...but always supports his family.

"Here's our kitchen!" James shows us their kitchen

"Here's our kitchen!" James shows us their kitchen. "You can now cook whatever you want!"

"Yes! How about we try something else...specifically for this occasion." Alice then thinks for an ideal dish. "Hmm...how about some halu-halo?"

"Huh? But that's too short for a jam-packed house. James commented in Alice's suggestion. "Not to mention that my visitors does not have a taste with such sweets like that."

"Oh! Come on, James! Nothing can resist the sweetness of a halu-halo. Hehehe!" Alice boastfully giggles. "And besides, I have a different way that your visitors will surely enjoy!"

"Hehehe! That's very nice of you! By the way, our refrigerator is full of ingredients you may want to try in making a halu-halo."

Alice then told us about the initial ingredients of halu-halo: Kidney beans, kaong, macapuno, langka, pinipig, gulaman, nata de coco, sweet potato, cheese, and bananas. Wow! Alice really has so many knowledge when it comes with food. In fact, this is the first time I make halu-halo...since the fast food restaurant that I previously worked doesn't serve one.

Claire is busy in boiling kidney beans and slicing bananas while I help Alice and Alex in bringing the rest of their ingredients to them...they mix the ingredients in a large bowl with a can of evaporated milk and sugar.

"Danica, can you bring us some small bowls for us?"

"Oh! Yes, Alice!"

I ran towards the dish rack...seeing a lots of bowls for us to fill with our sweetest halu-halo yet. I spent my time running back and forth...retrieving those small bowls and giving it to Alice and Alex...where they put in it the mixture of fruits, sugar and milk...and mix it a little to refine its taste...Alice makes a quick bite and quickly, she is visibly shaken...sign that the desert is already sweet enough...for a professional sweet tooth, at least.

"Wanna help?" Shortly, James returned to the kitchen, bringing with him a sack of crushed ice.

"Wow! You've got what we wanted!" Alice smiled brightly by what he had brought. "Thanks, James!"

James, through a large spoon, quickly divided the crushed ice into the small bowls to fill it in...before Alex tops it out with leche flan and ube. But Alice still has one trick on her sleeve...she scoops something from a unsuspected container...that I didn't notice that she holds for a long time now...and one by one...puts it into the nearly-perfected desert.

"Umm...Alice...what are you doing?" Alex worryingly ask her.

"Oh...this? That's just strawberry flavored ice cream made in coconut milk." Alice explains. "I'm just thinking...that maybe a different ice cream might just make our halu-halo more sweeter. Is trying a brand new stuff bad for me?"

"Huh? No, no. It's fine...totally fine." Alex smiled at her. "It's just...umm...I'm worried about what the visitors will have to say about your desert? What if James is right?"

"Ha! What are you saying?" Alice blinked at him in response. "I'm sure everybody will like it! Just trust me!"

James quickly puts the cups of halu-halo into the tray and delivers it out into the visitors outside. We stay here to listen on their reactions...but moments later...we won't expect what's coming right upon us...

"Ugh! What's this horrible taste?! You know I hate this!"

"Man, what's in this desert, something like a rotten milk or what? This is one of the worst desert that I've ever tasted!"

"Who created this dish? What was he thinking about us, fooling us with such a desert just for babies!"

As we continue to hear the unexpected negative notes from our visitors outside...there an only thing that we saw...it's Alice Flonne...who is the one who directly being beaten by the verbal attacks of the visitors who tasted...her halu-halo. And right now...tears fall from her eyes...in despair...and disbelief...

"Why...sniff...why they didn't understand my cooking...sniff...Am I...sniff...a terrible cook...sniff...they should just...sniff...taste it one more time...sniff...why?! WHYYYY?!?! HUHUHUHU!!!!"
