Thursday, 11th August 2016 - State Cross Country

Dear Diary

Today was, after having been cancelled and rescheduled several times, the state cross country carnival. I put on my sport uniform, carefully inspecting it for any more of My Secret Admirer's listening devices. As I predicted, there were several on each article of clothing, but I left them all where they were.

The bus which took all of the runners to the carnival arrived early. Prey was there, although he certainly wasn't't that anymore. He sat somewhere in the middle of the bus. I chose the back, to be as far away from him as possible.

We got off the bus at the carnival, and there were so many people there. All enthusiasm that I had for the event vanished. I definitely did not want to be here, and hoped that it ended as soon as possible.

The only reason that I got so far in the orginal event was my desire to keep up with Him. This was now gone, so I suspected that I would not do nearly as well.

True to my word, I did not. When the running began, almost everybody raced away from me. I tried to keep up, but I did not really want to, and just could not be bothered.

I finished the race significantly close to the back than to the front. They gave me a position, but I did not really take note of it. Although, I did know that I was going to hurt tomorrow.

The bus took all of us back to school. The day was not over, and I still had a lesson left to attend.

I sat next to Bear during it, and it passed rather quickly. Once again we said little about what we wanted to, instead talking about things which might help to convince My Secret Admirer that we were over the business of following people.

Nothing had changed with Biscuit, and he was still as happy as ever to see me. Before taking him for his walk, I checked him for any listening devices. I was relieved to see that he had none. At least My Secret Admirer had left this small section of my life clean.
