Thursday, 17th November 2016 - The Anniversary Date

Dear Diary

When I woke up this morning, Biscuit greeted me. This was pretty standard, but today he seemed even more happy to see me. It was almost as if he knew what today was. Almost as if he knew the horror that it meant. I got ready for school fairly quickly. Biscuit was still great. Still so cute. He had grown a lot since i got him, although his beautiful white fur was still framed with his cute little face. Biscuit's short legs also made everything he did seem that much bigger and better.

When I arrived at school, I found Bear. We started walking to class. Looking at me, she noticed that I seemed to be a little down.

"What's up?" she asked. I explained to her that today was the anniversary of Prey and Intruder. She understood instantly.

'What are they doing?" she replied, a mischievous smile appearing on her face. I returned it. We both knew that we were going to be 'with' them the whole time.

"After school they'll be going to the shops before enjoying a lovely meal at one of the more upper-class restaurants."

The disgust in her face was evident. At least, I thought it was disgust. I knew that Prey was supposed to be mine. I'd always assumed that Bear knew that, although I had never really confirmed that. I decided that now was a good time.

"Prey is supposed to be mine".

"Of course" she said, in a manner that left no doubt in my mind as to what she really thought. She agreed. She knew the truth.

Following this, we soon arrived at our classroom. We took our seats towards the back of the class . As this was one of the classes we had without Prey and Intruder, we felt it safe to be able to talk about their exploits.

"When we go to the shops," Bear started asking, "Will Mouse be coming with us?". It was a logical question. He was, after all, not just a part of the team, but also extremely knowledgeable and a friend.

"Definitely"

For most of the rest of the class, we planned what exactly we were going to do. We knew that we would not be able to get too close. At the same time, we also realized that if we were spotted, we could easily pass it off as some friends simply spending some time together at the shops. A coincidence. It would be all too easy to use that excuse the first time he saw us, maybe even the second.

Eventually, our first class ended. We moved along to our next class and met up with Mouse. When we had all sat down, Bear quickly explained to him what we had already discussed.

Eventually, he asked

"Are Prey and Intruder meeting for their anniversary?". My jaw dropped. I was shocked. Neither Bear nor I had actually told him that.

"H-How do you know?" I stuttered out.

"I read through the messages between all of their friends?" he explained easily, as if it was no matter at all.

"And you never told us?" I asked.

"Well, no. Every time I would try to tell you some new information, you already knew it."

I partially accepted his response. It seemed...acceptable. It would have been nice to know that he has the potential to discover everything about all of the people in our year. I would have continued this discussion further, but we had more pressing things to talk about. It would, however, be a good issue for another time.

Mouse patiently listened as we explained the rest of what was going to happen. He seemed to agree with most of it, although he did make a significant change which I agreed with. It was subtle enough to not get us noticed, but also large enough to make sure we were able to hear everything that Prey and Intruder did and talked about during their meal.
