Friday, 12th August 2016 - Retrieval
Dear Diary
Just like the day after my last run, almost every single part of me hurt. I played up my injuries a little so that I could spend the day away from school. This would be the third day in a row of school that I had missed, but I did not particularly mind. It was only school.
I spent the first few hours of the day lying in bed, just to make sure that my parents were not going to come home to check up on me. I adjusted the home phone so that if anybody called, it would redirect them to my mobile phone.
Following this, I left the house. My goal was to walk to Prey's house and reclaim most of the monitoring devices that I had left there previously. The webcam in his room would be the easy part, as it did not require crawling underneath the damp house. Crawling was not something that I wanted to do in my pained state, but I knew that I had to.
I got Biscuit and walked to his house. Nobody was home, and his window was open. I climbed in through it, and quickly retrieved the webcam. His computer was turned on, and I was very tempted to log into most of his social media accounts and browse through his folders. I resisted, instead deleting all of the tracking tools that I had installed on it. I put in one more tracking application. Unlike the other one, this did not tell me what Prey was doing, but would instead activate once any other information retrieval application was installed. This way, if My Secret Admirer, or anybody else, tried to follow him as well, then I would know.
Pleased with my success, I began to initiate part two of my plan. I got out of his bedroom and got ready to retrieve the listening devices. Just as I was climbing under the house, my cell phone rang. My father had managed to get out of work early, and was coming to check up on me.
My retrieval of the listening devices had to wait until tomorrow. I was now forced to race back home as soon as possible. While I had less distance to travel, my parent was in a car. I ran, attempting to not think about the pain.
Just as I got into the house, into some clean clothes and in bed, I heard the house door open. I made it just in time.
I spent the rest of the day pretending to be sore and unable to get out of my bed.
