When Biscuit woke me up today, it was quite warm. It seemed that most of the cold weather was finally over, and spring had truly begun. In direct contrast to the previous few months, it was safe to go outside in the early mornings without freezing, so I decided to take Biscuit for a walk. I fed him some food, and ate some myself, before getting his collar and leaving the house. He was obviously quite excited to be walking, and tried to run significantly faster than what I was able to keep up. He dragged me along. Biscuit was surprisingly powerful for such a small dog.

I tried to avoid going down Prey's street but Biscuit was very insistent. Reluctantly, I followed him down the street. Prey's house was still a few houses down, so I was sure I could convince Biscuit to turn back before we actually got there.

When I decided that we had gone far, I half-heartedly tried to make him turn back. While I did not feel a need to check in on him, I was still curious to see was he was doing. When I finally reached his house, he was walking out of the house to a red car, with a girl! And not just any girl, it was the girl which I had seen him with before, the same girl whose voice had been over his audio logs! They were going out together in a car, they were probably going to spend the day together.

How could I have missed this? The answer was both clear and obvious. I had not been watching him. I had not been listening to him. I had not been following him. If I had been keeping up to date on his activities and where about, I could have stopped this. Now was not the time for what-ifs though, it was far too late to stop it from happening. All I could do now was help them end it.

I quickly walked home, oblivious to Biscuit's attempts to go for a longer walk. What I had to do was far more important, I had to start making plans.
