The next day, the weather outside was perfect as usual. The sun beamed, glowing a yellow color. But, I was in Kai’s room all day, rotting on his laptop while sitting on his bed. That conceited bastard told me not to touch it, but did I listen? Of course not. He surely is stupid for trying to hide it but not locking it.

Because it was finally weekend, Kai would practice with EXO all day because their debut was nearing. Sometimes, after school, he would go to their practice room and train a couple of hours to perfect his skills. Sometimes he wouldn’t even come home. I am now used to him not being there, because it felt good and I was not going to complain. This week went by fast and I was used to the place now. I was also familiar with the maids now because I was feeling uncomfortable at first, who wouldn't if they would naturally take your socks out of nowhere to wash?

I was walking down the stairs with ear buds in my ear while blasting loud music, bobbing my head to the beat. I was so absorbed in the music while closing my eyes when I bumped into someone, making me stumble backwards a little.

“Oh, I’m sorr-” I stopped when I realized who it was. My face immediately changed from apologetic to a frown. “It’s you,” I said in disappointment before glaring. Kai looked at me before he grinned.

“Missed me?” he asked teasingly. Yeah of course. Even my thoughts was sarcastic.

“No,” I said truthfully and walked past him to the kitchen. Mrs. Kim was there with a couple of maids and they were discussing something while the maids were cooking and cleaning. They were listening to Mrs. Kim at the same time but they stopped when I walked in. Mrs. Kim stopped talking too and smiled when she noticed me.

“Kids! You both are here together!" Both? I looked behind me and saw Kai standing there as well. Apparently he followed me right afterwards. I mentally rolled my eyes.

“I’m just going to say that I’m not going to sleep at home tonight, I’m going to practice all day and sleep there with the other members,” Kai informed his mother coldly.

My face automatically brightened up in happiness and I smiled. Inside my head, I was doing a little victory dance from knowing that he would be absent. He’s not going to be here and I get to sleep alone without worrying if he was going to walk into the room in the middle of the night, disturbing me. I was even considering on taking his bed because even though it has only been a week and I had already grown tired of that stupid couch.

“Okay dear, have a great time, don’t overwork yourself, fighting!” she said in a cheerful way.

He didn’t answer and walked away coolly and I shook my head slightly from his demeanor. I smiled to his mother as a response from him so she wouldn’t feel so ignored.

“Are you hungry?” she asked me. I shook my head and looked around while the maids were cooking. It smelled good but I didn’t feel like eating food. Instead, I went over to the freezer to take some ice cream when I noticed there were none. Mrs. Kim noticed it and asked the one of the maids to go and buy some but I insisted that I could do it myself.

“No, I can go. I need some fresh air anyway,” I said politely. Mrs. Kim went over to her bag and took out some money for me while she told me to buy anything I wanted since she gave me enough cash to fill my stomach with snacks. I nodded and thanked her for the money before putting on my shoes that was so complicated to put on that I grunted a little in irritation.

“Son! Go with Sam to the store, she’s new here, she can easily get lost.” I heard Mrs. Kim shout to Kai all of the sudden, making me stop tying my shoes. I could hear him growl in anger because he didn't want to. He didn’t say much and came over to me while looking at me with dead eyes. I gave him an evil eye and he rolled his eyes in return.
