I slammed the door loudly, not caring that I've made a ruckus and quickly ran up to my room before I threw myself on my bed. I ignored my mother and little brother purposely whom were calling for me from the kitchen the minute I stepped inside the house. Finally, summer vacation! I grinned at the thought while my eyes were closed, savoring this precious moment.

My door suddenly burst open and I shot up from shock while my little brother, Hunter, starts to call for me with an annoying tone purposely, just to bug me out. “Sam! Sam, Sammy, Samantha, Samuel, Sa-”

“What?!” I yelled and scowled at him. Hunter grinned wickedly before answering me.

“Mom and I baked cookies,“ he replied while his grin disappeared and was replaced with a genuine smile.

My expression immediately lightened up by the thought of new baked cookies. My stomach was feeling quite empty anyways. Good start.

I walked to the kitchen with Hunter while nagging on him for being annoying and flicking his forehead playfully before rubbing his head with my knuckles. He’s actually very irritating for being so young, but he’s only like that to me because he knows it gets to me. Infront of my parents, he becomes this little angel sent from above that is so gullible. My parents always say that they love the two of us equally but I knew that they love him a little bit more, but as the person I was, I didn’t mind.

Or didn't even bother to care.

I sat near the kitchen counter when my mother brought over the plates with cookies for me. They smelled heavenly and the thought that they were new baked made my jaw slack a little. I started to eat them like there is no tomorrow, ignoring the looks I received from my mother like I have been starving the whole day.

“Sam,” my mother said suddenly which made my eyebrows furrow while I concentrated on eating. I didn’t bother to answer because I knew she was going to continue anyways, like always.

“Go pack and prepare your clothes for tomorrow, you will be going to Seoul!” she said with a happy face, her eyes twinkling a little.

“Why? Is it a vacation?” I said, sounding a bit excited as she was. But that tone dissipated from the next line she said, dropping the bomb.

“It’s a summer school there, so you can improve your grades! I already signed you up so there’s no turning back now,” she said, sounding kind in the beginning, but in the end she just sounded serious.

“You what?!” I said incredulously, while having a chewed cookie inside my mouth. Small crumbs fell on my lap when my mouth went ajar slightly out of astonishment.

“You pig, you have no manners,” Hunter added in a low tone before shaking his head in disapproval.

I just ignored him and continued to stare at my mother because I got so frustrated from the announcement my mother just did. How could she do that without asking for my permission? Did she ever thought about asking if I even wanted to in the first place? My summer vacation just began, and now I had to study the whole semester?! What am I? A freaking study machine?

“You will be staying with me and your father's very close friends, that way we’ll save money. Plus, they have a son in your age! It will be great, you’ll make a new friend by the end of the summer!” My mother continued with excitement, her happiness dripping from the words she spoke. At least someone was excited.

Great, a friend, how typical of her to think I was still three years old that could easily be friends with someone. On the other hand, when I was three, I still had issues with my social life. Just lock me up in a cage fill with pigs. They will surely be a better company.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I said with watery eyes while my lips trembled slightly, just enough so she hopefully buy it.

"Sam, you know that won't work on me, besides you have to do something for that dream car you've always wanted," she said sternly before giving me a scolding look that I hate so much.

I rolled my eyes before my eyes narrowed on her, hoping she would change her mind.

But she didn't.

"Argh!" I screamed out loud in defeat before stomping away from the kitchen. Hunter looked at me with raised eyebrows and I gave him a look that made him look away.

I ran up to my room and slammed the door as hard as I could, just so they would know how ridiculous this was. I wanted to let her know how angry I was too and that I was against this whole idea. I lay on my bed with a wrinkled forehead while frowning slightly. In the end, they were my parents and as much as I hated it, they had total control over me.

My summer vacation is officialy ruined. AND I have to spend it with some guy who probably is a weird nerd.

I got angrier and screamed again into my pillow in frustration before giving it a hard punch to relieve some anger.
