I love fake boyfriend AU's because just yes okay?
Keith's POV
It's been a year since the war with Zarkon. Lance, Pidge, Hunk, Allura, Coran, Shiro and I are still close. Actually, we live in the same neighbourhood. Oh yeah, we're back on earth. I didn't realise how much I missed it until we got here. Currently, Lance and I are in a store looking for a few things. Lance and I have gotten pretty close since we met. I would go so far as to say he's my best friend.
"Okay, I'll go look for the garlic, peppers, mushrooms and salt, while you go get vanilla ice-cream, cherries, pasta and cereal. Deal?" Lance asks. I shrug.
"Sure. Whatever." I tell him. Lance walks one direction, and I walk the other. My phone buzzes. I take it out.

There is no winning
I put my phone in my pocket and look for some cereal.
"Hey." A bubbly voice says. I turn my head to see a girl around my age with blonde hair in a side-braid, tannish skin, brown eyes standing there. The amount of makeup on her face is slightly disturbing. She's wearing a short purple shirt that just about covers her chest, and jean shorts so short, one might've thought they were underwear. Her shoes are brown sparkly sandals.
"Um. Hi." I say awkwardly. She smiles.
"So, what's a hot guy like you shopping around alone?" She asks. She walks closer to me and I back up a bit.
"Um..." I have a sudden urge to attack her, but I have limits.
"Actually, I'm not alone."
The girl frowns.
"You aren't? Your girlfriend is here?"
"Well, no..."
She smiles again.
"So... you're single? What a coincidence! Me too! I'm Amara."
"Okay. Hi, Amara. Well, it was nice talking to you. I better get going..." I say. I grab the first box of cereal I see and start to walk away. Amara puts her hand on my shoulder, stopping me.
"Oh, come on! We can talk, right? I want to get to know you!" She says in a whiny voice.
"I don't want to talk." I tell her. She furrows her eyebrows and her cheeks get red (I think. I can't tell with all that blusher)
"Why? Is it because I'm not pretty? Do you think I'm not pretty!?"
"I never said that. I just-"
"So you do think I'm pretty?"
"Well-"
"Fantastic! You should come over to my house! We can talk, drink, watch a movie, drink some more, it'll be fun! Let's go right now!" She tries to take my hand, but I pull away.
"I said I don't want to talk."
"You don't know what you're talking about. Of course, you do!"
"No, I'm pretty sure I don't."
Amara huffs.
"So, you're not interested in me?" She asks,
"Not like that." I tell her.
"I'll make you interested in me."
"No, I'm pretty sure you won't."
"My house. Now."
"Just walk away, Amara. I don't have time to deal with this right now."
Amara grabs my hand with a death-grip and tries to drag me away. I just stand still and watch her try to drag me to the door.
"Keith? What's going on?" I turn my head to see Lance with a confused look on his face.
"Who's this?" He asks.
"I'm his girlfriend." Amara says. I roll my eyes.
"No, you're not!" I say. Lance grabs my free hand and pulls me away from her.
"Thanks, Lance." I tell him. He smiles.
"No problem." He lets go of my hand and looks at Amara.
"Would you care to tell my why you were holding my boyfriend's hand and trying to pull him to the door?" Lance asks Amara. My face heats up. Is he really doing the whole 'fake boyfriend' thing? Whatever. I just want to leave.
"Wait... you're gay?" She asks me.
"Gayer than a rainbow, I'm afraid." Which isn't really a lie. I am super gay. Lance wraps his arm around my waist and I rest my head on his shoulder. She looks at Lance and awkwardly smiles.
"Um... Sorry to have done that to your... um, boyfriend." She says nervously.
"You better be." Lance snarls.
"Well... I have to go. B-bye." She shuffles away to the door.
"Thanks." I lift my head from his shoulder. He keeps his arm around my waist. I'm not complaining. Lance smiles.
"Sure. You'd've done the same for me. Or, something like that." He tells me. I nod.
"Let's go check out." He says.
After we check out, Lance removes his arm from my waist and takes my hand instead. When we leave the store, he has a fierce expression on his face. I haven't seen that since the war with Zarkon.
"Hey. Quick question." He says, breaking the silence.
"Ask away."
"Be my boyfriend? For real, I mean."
"Oh... okay."
"Cool."
So, that's that. On the outside, I'm slightly smiling and blushing. On the inside, I'm freaking out. My stomach feels weird.
When we get back to my house, everybody else is there and they're not surprised we're holding hands. They tell us they thought we were dating already. So... That's great. I guess. We all help to make dinner. When we're done, Pidge and Hunk set the table up. We all sit down and start piling up our plates.
"Guys... I really feel like we did good today." Hunk says as he slurps up his spaghetti.
"You have no idea..." Lance mumbles. I try to not laugh. When we all finish eating, we walk to my living room and watch a movie (Die hard). Allura and Shiro are the first to leave. Pidge, hunk, Coran follow. Lance and I are sitting next to each other. It's awkward.
"So, um... What do you want to do?" I ask. Lance shrugs.
"Ah, okay."
More awkward silence. Lance decides to leave. I walk him to the porch.
"Thanks again, Lance." I tell him.
"Like I said, it's no problem."
I kiss his cheek and walk back inside. I shut the door before he could say anything. I walk over to my window and peek out. Lance is walking away with a smile.
Heyyy, guys. Sorry, this story is kinda shit, but whatever. I'm too lazy to make any changes.
