This idea is mine! I own this au! Holy goodness and all that it is!

Lance was not looking forward to later that day. I mean, there's a very low chance he and Keith are even compatible.

You see, the way people know who they're going to spend the rest of their lives is completely random. The higher ones choose two random names and bring the two to a 'love chamber'. Lance hates the name. It makes it seem like something dirty is going to go on down there. That is definitely not the case. Well, nothing sexual dirty anyway. What they're actually doing? Could be considered dirty.

The two names that have been drawn are to meet at the higher one's fortress and are escorted to the love chamber. Once there, the nurses hook up person A and B to a strange machine. Once they're connected... well, nobody really knows for sure. All people knew, was that once you woke up, the nurses would tell you if you're compatible or not. If you are, you have to spend the rest of your lives together. There was no other option. Nobody has ever found someone one-hundred percent compatible. If it's at least eighty-one percent or more, that's considered compatible.

And with Lance's luck, he just had to be tested to see if he and his rival, his enemy, his least favorite person and him are compatible or not.

Of course, Lance highly doubted it. The two of them never got along, and Lance doesn't intend to now.

He dragged himself to the front entrance where Keith was sulking. They didn't acknowledge each other's presence. They sat in silence and apart from each other.

A young man with black hair with a white streak opened up the gate for them. Keith and Lance sighed while they stood up.

The man smiled.

"My name is Shiro. Are you Keith and Lance?" The man, Shiro, asked.

"Unfortunately." Keith and Lance said at the same time. Shiro looked between the two before clearing his throat.

"This way, please." He said as he ushered them in. Keith and Lance walked side by side, not making eye-contact.

"For hundreds of years, we have been matching people together in a peaceful way! We take extra care of our patients and make sure that each one is cared for. Do either of you happen to have any questions?" Shiro asked.

"Actually, I do. Why can't we find love on our own?" Lance asked.

"I'm glad you asked. You see, for thousands of years, many people were in relationships that just weren't right. They created kids that messed up society, example, Hitler and Donald Trump." Shiro explained. Lance nodded his head.

"Seven-hundred years ago, president Alfor came up with a system. A system that quickly changed the way people fell in love." Shiro said.  Keith scoffed.

"But is it really love if it's forced?" He asked. Shiro didn't say anything.

"No more questions." He said. He leads them down into a dark red basement.
"Keith, please lay here, Lance you here," Shiro said as he pointed to two separate hospital beds. They did as they were told.

"Take off your shirts, so we can apply the equipment," Shiro demanded. The boys blushed but did as they were told.

A nurse wearing green stuck a needle into both of their arms. Lance instantly felt lightheaded.

"Just try to relax. It'll be over soon, anyway." She said.

Lance drifted into oblivion.

Black.

All he could see was Black. Black everywhere.

Red.
